"Obito."
Amidst the swirling smoke, Kakashi gazed solemnly at the black-clad figure before him.
Even with the mask, there was no mistaking his identity.
Zzzzzz—
In an instant, blue arcs of electricity crackled around his left hand, while his crimson left eye became particularly striking.
Fixing his gaze on Obito, Kakashi spoke in a low tone.
"Are you really not planning to turn back? Are you determined to keep making mistakes?"
"Mistakes?"
Obito Uchiha scoffed coldly, shaking his head with an indifferent expression.
"Ever since you let Rin die, my heart has been hollowed out by this hellish world.
Once, I had nothing but pain inside, but now I have a goal.
I want to create a world of peace. What right do you have to say I'm wrong?"
"And what about Sensei? What did they do wrong? Why did you do this back then?"
Kakashi paused in silence before suddenly speaking up, yet Obito unexpectedly remained calm.
"Don't bother trying to extract information, Kakashi. I've seen through your thoughts, so kindly shut up."
"Is that so?"
Kakashi sighed, his gaze shifting slightly.
"Obito, your former will has always been with me, supporting me.
But I'm sorry, all I can do now is send you on your way."
"Is that so."
Obito's masked face revealed no expression, and his voice seemed devoid of emotion.
"Same here."
In a flash, both figures vanished, and the next instant, their shadows intertwined!
Thud—
Kakashi's Lightning Cutter pierced Obito's chest, while Obito's kunai simultaneously struck Kakashi's abdomen!
Blood flowed continuously, but in the next moment, everything seemed illusory as both figures disappeared.
Clang—
With the sound of metal clashing, Kakashi and Obito crossed paths again on the other side.
"It seems you're using that Sharingan well."
Obito, holding an iron chain, looked at Kakashi and suddenly sneered.
"But that's all. Let me show you how to truly use this eye!"
"Tch, you kappa, you're really fast!"
Elsewhere, Hidan swung his scythe wildly at Guy, muttering incessantly.
But Guy completely ignored him, dodging swiftly while observing the movements around him.
"Kakashi is entangled with Obito, Minamoto has to face an unknown opponent alone—this is troublesome."
Guy quickly analyzed the situation, and just then, Hidan's scythe suddenly swung out. Guy dodged instinctively but soon noticed something amiss.
In an instant, he sidestepped, and the scythe was pulled back by a chain, allowing Guy to evade it gracefully.
"This lunatic's taijutsu seems decent, and his weapon is troublesome, but I haven't seen any ninjutsu yet. Maybe he has some secret technique."
Guy was aware of this, though he was concerned about Kakashi, given Obito's high level of danger.
He was also worried about Kitagawa Minamoto. The kid was strong but lacked experience, making him prone to mistakes.
Yet, he trusted his companions, believing they could handle the situation, and he himself would strive to do better to support them!
"Hey, kappa, are you going to fight or not? If not, just surrender and let me sacrifice you!"
Hidan saw Guy ignoring him and sped up his attacks, but Guy's face suddenly turned serious.
"Hey, lunatic, listen up."
"Huh?"
Hidan paused, looking at Guy in confusion.
But in the next second, Guy suddenly dashed forward and kicked him squarely in the face!
Boom—
With a dull thud, Hidan was sent flying, and Guy's voice reached his ears.
"I'm not a kappa; I'm the 'Proud Blue Beast of Konohagakure'!"
"..."
Before Hidan's head hit a tree, he couldn't help but mutter.
"What a stupid nickname, baka."
As Kakashi and Guy were forced apart, Kitagawa Minamoto faced off against Kakuzu.
"Kakuzu, huh?"
Minamoto looked at the peculiar man before him, raising an eyebrow.
This guy had once cornered Kakashi, causing significant trouble, and it took Naruto and Yamato to resolve the situation.
Minamoto was curious—had this guy really fought against Hashirama Senju?
"Seems unlikely, right?"
Kakuzu was strong, but against Hashirama Senju, he wouldn't stand a chance.
Only Madara Uchiha could truly challenge Hashirama seriously.
"Kid, I heard you learned the Flying Thunder God Technique?"
As they silently faced off, Kakuzu suddenly spoke coldly.
"I've always heard how Tobirama Senju and Minato Namikaze were formidable because of this technique. I'm curious about its true power."
"You'll see."
Minamoto quickly drew his White Fang short sword, purple arcs of electricity spreading across the blade.
Against this opponent, he couldn't afford to be careless.
Moreover, he had a bold idea in mind.
"Hopefully, because—"
In an instant, Kakuzu completed his hand seals, and a wave of flames surged toward Minamoto like a tidal wave!
"I'm quite fired up now!"
Kakuzu was indeed irritated, as he couldn't claim the bounty on Obito!
"And this guy is one of us?"
Kakuzu couldn't quite understand why the organization had two leaders—a frontman and a puppeteer.
He could pretend to be unaware, but he couldn't deal with Obito.
"That space-time technique—"
Against Obito Uchiha, he was utterly ineffective, and any slight error would lead to instant defeat.
He had already lost a heart and didn't want to incur further losses!
"But Obito claims to be Madara Uchiha's heir?"
Hidan might not grasp the implication, but Kakuzu, having lived through that era, knew what that name signified!
Regardless of whether he believed it or not, he didn't care about the internal politics or who was in charge.
He was uninterested and unconcerned—he only wanted money!
The only slight comfort was that Obito had provided him some information.
"Two Jōnin from Konohagakure, one of them being Hatake Kakashi with the Sharingan—they're clearly valuable. As for this kid..."
Staring at the sea of flames, Kakuzu silently switched to his Wind Release heart.
He recalled that both Tobirama Senju and Minato Namikaze used kunai for teleportation, so he needed to use Wind Release to blow away any kunai.
"Hmm?"
To his surprise, no kunai flew toward him.
As the flames dissipated, he saw Minamoto blocking with one hand, purple lightning forming a barrier against his Fire Release!
"This Lightning Release..."
Kakuzu eyed the purple lightning in Minamoto's hand, his green eyes flickering with greed, but he immediately sensed something amiss.
"This kid, his aura is strange?"
Before he could ponder further, Minamoto's entire body was enveloped in purple lightning, and in the next instant, he moved like a phantom.
At that moment, Minamoto had already charged right up to him!
Under the cover of purple lightning, Kakuzu didn't notice that Minamoto's eyes had transformed into a pair of white irises.
