Chapter 177: I Want the Mirror Neurons!

Takumi had no interest in playing with Midora any longer.

Just as the latter attempted to release his Gourmet Demon, Takumi activated the Herrscher of Knowledge's authority and forced Midora into a deep sleep.

He was far stronger than Midora.

Faced with Takumi's mental attack, Midora was completely unprepared and fell unconscious, his energy instantly dissipating.

Yuu: [Going to sleep!]

Fujiwara Chika: [Seriously, you could've ended the battle instantly—why drag it out like that?!]

Bronya: [Logging off!]

Ais: [So strong...]

Suddenly, an unfamiliar message popped up, bewildering those who were just about to go offline.

Bronya: [A new member?]

Fujiwara Chika: [(ΩДΩ) When did we get a new person?]

Katou Megumi: [Totally didn't notice...]

Izumi Sagiri: [Welcome, newbie...]

Houraisan Kaguya: [Yo, another new one?]

This newcomer had arrived without anyone realizing.

Or rather, no one had been paying attention— everyone had been too focused on Takumi.

The rest hadn't really checked the chat, so very few even noticed someone new had joined.

Ais: [Hello, everyone...]

Ais greeted the group.

Fujiwara Chika: [Hello hello!]

[Are you male or female, Ais?]

[What's special about your world?]

She couldn't quite recall who "Ais" was, so she asked about their world.

Responding to the questions, Ais began explaining her world.

She'd already read the group files— seemingly something about people's futures?

That piqued her interest.

So, at Loki's urging, she shared information about her world.

The upper ranks of the Loki Familia already knew about the chat group.

They'd also watched Takumi's livestream, and were thoroughly stunned.

The sheer power on display made Loki herself extremely serious.

So many otherworldly powerhouses— it was unreal.

...

Meanwhile, Takumi was unaware of the group's activity.

After securing Midora, he brought him back to Earth.

Opening imaginary space, Takumi appeared on the ship Mobius was currently on.

Upon seeing him return, Mobius' eyes lit up at the sight of the restrained Midora.

She practically wanted to dissect him on the spot.

She'd seen the entire battle— though it was a one-sided beatdown, Mobius understood the situation clearly.

That kind of overwhelming defeat— only because Takumi was too strong.

It didn't mean Midora was weak.

In fact, he embodied the peak power of Gourmet Cells.

Planet-destroying level.

This made him extremely valuable for research.

"I'll leave him to you," Takumi said.

"No need for me to say more."

He handed Midora over.

He'd already sealed Midora consciousness.

Mobius could now research him however she liked.

Mobius nodded.

"Got it."

"That other guy—you can take him away. We won't be needing him for now."

She gestured for a robot to wheel Midora onto the surgical platform.

The other guy she referred to—Aru—stood nearby, a bit speechless.

He couldn't tell whether he should feel happy or sad.

What could he even say?

With a shake of his head, he gave up thinking about it.

Since they no longer needed his help, he wouldn't bother staying.

All he did was give some blood and undergo an unknown examination.

According to Mobius, they'd gotten all they needed.

He could leave.

Now that she had a better specimen, she didn't need Aru anymore.

"Alright, I'll head out."

And with that, Aru vanished without hesitation.

Something about this lab gave him the creeps.

Everyone here was terrifying— especially the biologists.

You never knew when you might end up on the operating table.

Once Aru left, Mobius and Klein got to work.

They began drawing Midora blood and extracting his DNA and cells.

But his muscles were so dense, the syringes couldn't penetrate.

"Takumi, make a stronger syringe. These won't work."

Takumi didn't refuse.

He approached and looked at the unconscious Midora, then created a new set of surgical tools.

Much sturdier and tougher.

"Draw an extra tube of blood for me," he said.

"I'll need it."

Mobius was puzzled.

"You're going to do research too?"

"Not quite," Takumi replied.

"This guy has Mirror Neurons— he can mimic, learn, and copy any skill."

"That's quite the talent."

"With his DNA and cells, I should be able to modify my own DNA to gain the same ability."

Takumi was candid, sharing his idea without hesitation.

Using the Herrscher of Death's power, he could do exactly that.

The power of Genesis could reconstruct flesh at the molecular level based on DNA sequences.

Once Takumi understood Midora's genetic structure, he could replicate the talent himself.

Mobius blinked in astonishment.

"Alright!"

"When you do it, let me watch~!"

Even as she spoke, she swiftly plunged a new syringe into Midora's vein and extracted the blood.

"Hmm... Not much to see, really."

"Even Black Abyss White Flower can do this."

Mobius rolled her eyes.

"No, it can't."

"It only repairs. It can't insert foreign DNA or modify existing genes."

Just then, Vilvi entered from outside.

She'd overheard the conversation.

Having helped design the Divine Keys, she knew their capabilities well.

Though based on Herrscher Cores, the Divine Keys only retained a fraction of the original power— the most basic functions.

What Takumi described? Only a true Herrscher could manage that.

Which is why the Divine Keys couldn't replicate it.
