Takumi listened to the two girls describe their new superpowers and found himself genuinely surprised.
Concealing presence?
Wasn't Megumi Kato already naturally equipped with that? Her sense of presence was inherently low to begin with. And now she had an ability that enhanced that even more.
Wow. Megumi Kato was walking further and further down the path of an Assassin.
As for Asuna's slicing ability—now that was excellent. Asuna had always wanted to learn swordsmanship. If she could combine it with this slicing power, it would significantly boost her capabilities.
"Perfect!" "Awei, you should start studying some assassination skills. Techniques like stealth and silent killing would suit you well." "Truly a natural-born assassin! Even Hassan would have to step aside."
As he spoke, Takumi gave Megumi Kato a big thumbs-up.
Megumi, however, had black lines on her face.
"I don't want to!!" "Seriously... this 'lack of presence' gag is something I'll never live down, right?"
Megumi was helpless. The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she felt.
Takumi, meanwhile, found it all quite amusing.
"There's no getting past it! Like Akari from YuruYuri, you'll become a meme!"
Megumi rolled her eyes at him. She couldn't be bothered to retort.
"As for Asuna, focus on practicing swordsmanship. Combined with your slicing power, your combat ability is already looking pretty solid." "You could go out and train alongside Bronya and the others."
Asuna had already gone through one enhancement. Now with the addition of a superpower, her fighting ability was nothing to scoff at.
"Let's wait until we're more familiar with our powers. For now, let's hold off."
Asuna shook her head at Takumi's suggestion. She wasn't the reckless type who rushed into battle just because she had new powers. She wanted to get used to them first.
Takumi respected her decision and didn't say more.
While the three were chatting, Alice and Erina had finished eating. After their meal, they both looked amazed.
"Wow, that was powerful." "I feel like I could beat a bull to death right now!!"
Erina's face lit up with a bright smile. She also noticed her God Tongue had become more powerful. Interestingly, it seemed to be controllable now. If necessary, she could even suppress its activation temporarily. That discovery delighted her.
"You probably can't beat a bull." "Modern bulls are kind of terrifying."
Takumi chuckled at her. Erina might feel strong now, but it was likely just a side effect of the sudden enhancement. Mobius's gourmet cells weren't that miraculous. It was probably just an illusion.
Erina blinked but then thought about it. Yeah... modern bulls were indeed monstrous. So she was still just a weakling.
Not long after, Mobius, Vill-V, and the others finished eating too.
"I'm full. Time for a walk." "I'll head out first!" "Alice, want to come with us? You can help cook, too."
Mobius planned to go foraging. Though the meal was satisfying, she believed she could eat even more. Might as well take two chefs along.
Alice's eyes lit up immediately.
"Let's go!" "Let's all go together."
She turned to look at Asuna and Megumi.
Asuna raised her hand in refusal.
"We'll stay. We're not used to our powers yet. We'll wait until we've practiced more." "You guys are going out to gather food anyway, so you go ahead."
Asuna stuck to her earlier decision. There was no way she was going out just yet.
Seeing this, Alice didn't insist.
"Alright!" "You two stay and get used to your abilities." "I'll go out with Miss Mobius and the others."
With that, she and Erina followed Mobius and the others out.
Back home, only Takumi, Asuna, and Megumi remained. Takumi looked at the two girls and handed them a training manual.
"Here—use this to train your powers." "It also includes some of the swordsmanship and magic training methods from my world." "Use it to practice. Once this mission is over and you visit my world, you'll be learning all this anyway. Think of it as prep work."
He handed them a few books.
Asuna smiled brightly.
"Thanks! Really appreciate it!"
She didn't hesitate to accept the materials. Megumi did the same. The two of them then stepped outside to begin their training.
Takumi, meanwhile, continued monitoring the global situation.
Around noon, he suddenly detected a space fluctuation in Japan. And it wasn't far from his location.
Something from the Toriko world was merging into this one. And it was landing on the Nakiri family's mountain?
Curious, Takumi vanished from the spot and teleported to the scene.
Ordinary people wouldn't notice anything. But Takumi clearly felt the powerful spatial distortion.
He didn't have to wait long.
Moments later, several massive skyscrapers appeared out of thin air. The surrounding space stretched, but the Nakiri family's ingredient farm wasn't displaced. It was as if the buildings had forcibly squeezed space to make room. They looked like they had always been there.
Seeing the towering structures, Takumi was stunned.
IGO headquarters? Appearing here?
He stared at the enormous letters on the building in front of him.
Takumi was speechless. IGO headquarters had just... appeared.
As he puzzled over this, an even more terrifying space fluctuation occurred.
This one affected the entire world.
Takumi's expression immediately turned serious. He gave Prometheus a direct order.
"Prepare yourself!" "Something big is coming."
The intensity of this space fluctuation meant the Toriko world was starting to fully merge.
This wasn't like before, when a few creatures would randomly appear.
This time, it was a global-scale fusion.
After alerting Prometheus, Takumi sent a message to the group chat as well.
Everyone, stay alert.
Stick together.
Don't get forcibly separated when the world shifts.
