Chapter 202: You Didn’t Even Know She Had a Holy Sword?

Everyone came to Takumi's place for one main reason—to improve their combat abilities. So Takumi thought, the faster they could get stronger, the better. Within just one summer break, the goal was to boost everyone's fighting power to its peak.

After deciding this, the group started chatting. Naturally, the conversation shifted to weapons.

"Takumi, do you think we should get magic wands or something?"

"If I'm a mage, shouldn't I have a staff?"

"And Asuna needs a sword too."

Fujiwara Chika glanced at Takumi. Did mages really need weapons?

"Just ask Ais. Let them forge something for you over there," Takumi replied, rolling his eyes.

"Use your points to buy from her and have her ask Hephaestus to craft it. It'll be as good as a divine artifact. That's plenty for you to use."

"If that doesn't work, you can go to the old man, too. It's just a weapon—not a big deal. Just send your design sketches over."

Was it really so hard to get a weapon? Just ask someone from the other side!

"Umm… weapons from Ais's world?"

"To be honest, if possible, I'd rather have a Noble Phantasm!"

Fujiwara Chika tilted her head, suddenly remembering Sakura, who had just joined the group. The thought of having a Noble Phantasm made her eyes light up. Wouldn't that be way better?

"Don't even think about it," Takumi said, laughing.

"Noble Phantasms aren't suited for you guys. Besides, if you want one, you'd have to steal it. All those Heroic Spirits' Noble Phantasms are custom-made. Even if you tried, you wouldn't be able to get one. You'd be better off having someone make a custom weapon for you."

Takumi chuckled at her wishful thinking.

You want a Noble Phantasm? What a joke. They just aren't made for you.

Sure, Noble Phantasms have all sorts of effects, but they consume a lot, too.

Are you sure you could even use them properly?

Hearing Takumi's explanation, Chika looked a little disappointed, but after a moment's thought, she gave up on the idea. He was right.

"I'll ask Ais!"

Asuna, after hearing their conversation, jumped right into the chat group. She and Ais both used rapiers—maybe Ais had something she could use.

Yuuki Asuna:

[@Ais, are you there, Ais?]

Ais:

[?]

Ais was a little confused—why was Asuna suddenly @-ing her?

Yuuki Asuna:

[I'd like to ask for your help making a weapon.]

Fujiwara Chika:

[Me too!]

Kato Megumi:

[I want one as well!]

These three were the only ones needing weapons. Chika wanted a magic staff, Megumi wanted a short sword, and Asuna needed a rapier. Nakiri Alice didn't need one for now; the others already had weapons. In the group, it was just these few who didn't.

Saten Ruiko didn't want a staff—she was sticking with her path as an esper and maybe would consider becoming a mage someday. Unlike Chika, who had already decided to switch over to mage.

Ais:

[Sure!]

Ais agreed right away.

Fujiwara Chika:

[I'll trade points with you! Please make me a good staff—here's 500 points!!]

Chika was going all-in. Getting a weapon she was comfortable with was essential!

Kato Megumi:

[Me too.]

Yuuki Asuna:

[Same here, we'll all pay in points.]

They didn't have currency from that world, so they had to use points in the chat.

Ais:

[Alright, Loki says it's fine! She'll ask Lady Hephaestus to craft your weapons.]

Trading points for weapons? Ais just had to check with Loki, and Loki agreed without a second thought. Refuse? Why would she refuse? Ais needed points, too! Now she could power herself up. After her first power-up, Ais's abilities were bound to improve dramatically.

Plus, Takumi had sold a lot of things in the group store already. Loki could just have Ais help buy them. In the chat, points were the best currency—sometimes even hard to get.

If three people wanted to trade for points, she was happy to help.

Sagiri:

[Um… could you make me a sword too? I want one as well.]

Seeing everyone ask Ais for custom weapons—and gods themselves would be forging them!—Sagiri placed her order, too.

Takumi:

[What do you need a weapon for?]

Seeing Sagiri's message, Takumi was puzzled.

Did she want to be a warrior? That didn't seem likely. Why did she suddenly want a sword?

Sagiri:

[To give to Yuuki!]

She wasn't asking for herself, but wanted to gift Yuuki a sword.

Takumi rolled his eyes.

Takumi:

[Yuuki already has a divine artifact! No need to get her anything. Save your points and strengthen yourself instead.]

Seriously, Gabriel had already equipped Yuuki and her sister with Holy Sword-level weapons. Sagiri didn't need to worry about it.

Sagiri:

[Eh? Yuuki has a weapon?]

Now Sagiri was dumbfounded. She hadn't known at all.

Yuuki Asuna:

[She does have a weapon, so no need to get her another.]

Asuna was aware of this, but found it odd Sagiri didn't know.

Sagiri:

[I really didn't know! (ΩДΩ) I thought Yuuki didn't have a weapon!!]

She'd never heard Yuuki talk about training or weapons while playing together, so she genuinely didn't know.

Takumi:

[You're a terrible neighbor!]

That made Takumi laugh—what a joke, a neighbor not knowing Yuuki's situation?

Sagiri:

[QAQ Stop it!! I'll just get her something else then!!]

If that was the case, she'd gift something else instead. But now, she was at a loss—what could she give the sisters?

Asuna and the others quickly finalized the custom weapon arrangements. Takumi didn't interfere. If they wanted weapons, he could help—he could even make a tidy profit in points. But he didn't need them now, so he let others earn from the group.

Houraisan Kaguya:

[Takumi's special red envelope.]

[I'll give you an old purple hag, and you can have a long chat with her!!]

[Best if she can't get out of bed tonight!!]

Just as Takumi was about to close the chat, Kaguya suddenly sent him a red envelope, along with his space bracelet, and a cryptic message.

Seeing Kaguya's words, Takumi was speechless.

Good grief, really, good grief.
