Yagokoro Eirin's arrival naturally caught the attention of the two people in the room. Even though they were playing games, they had sensed her return the moment she stepped into the house.
"Eirin, you're back. This is our new home now! It feels really nice!"
Kaguya didn't even glance at Eirin and continued chatting while gaming.
Eirin, used to her antics, just nodded. "Yeah. I'll cast some protective enchantments later. By the way, Takumi, since you're here, there's something I'd like to discuss with you."
She didn't waste time and got straight to the point, ready to share what was on her mind.
Takumi raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What is it?"
Had something happened? What did she want to talk about?
Kaguya was curious too. The two paused their game in sync and turned toward Eirin.
Seeing this, Eirin was speechless. That synchronized? Could they already be a thing?
But one glance at Kaguya told her otherwise—at least she didn't seem to have been "taken."
Then again, even if she had, it wouldn't be obvious. Kaguya had grown stronger after her enhancements, especially in terms of recovery. She could repair almost anything.
Though suspicious, Eirin didn't dwell on it. It shouldn't have happened so quickly—she had only stepped out briefly. Takumi wasn't that fast, right?
"I'd like to conduct some research at the Academy. I'm genuinely curious about your world and its systems. I hope you can grant me access."
Eirin laid out her request plainly. Without Takumi's approval, she wouldn't have access to the information she wanted.
Takumi's eyes lit up. "No problem. You can head over directly. Prometheus, handle the arrangements."
He agreed immediately. Eirin's skills spoke for themselves—she had created the Hourai Elixir, after all. On the moon, she had been a top-tier researcher. Moon technology far surpassed anything in Gensokyo.
Letting her into the Academy was a no-brainer. Her title as "Master" wasn't for nothing.
Thinking of Eirin reminded Takumi of the moon dwellers from Gensokyo. He glanced at Kaguya.
"What about your sisters? Did they come too? The people from the moon?"
Kaguya nodded. "Yeah, most of them who could come did. Even the people from the Netherworld. Though Shiki Eiki hasn't yet found a way to handle the Netherworld here. That's something you should look into."
As for her sisters? Whatever. They could go wherever they wanted. It didn't concern her.
Could they even live on this world's moon? Probably not.
After all, Takumi had long since transformed this moon into a server. He didn't allow others to reside there. You could visit, but not settle.
Kaguya understood this well. She wasn't sure where they'd end up—but at least they were somewhere on the planet.
"Thanks," Eirin said. "Then I won't interrupt your game any longer. I'll set up the magic arrays and head to the Academy afterward. Princess, don't forget to eat."
With Takumi's approval, Eirin moved to act. But first, she had to arrange some spellwork and instruct the idiot rabbits.
And with that, Eirin busied herself.
"You've struck gold! I'm telling you, Master is seriously powerful," Kaguya said while continuing her game. Eirin joining the Academy was a huge win. Didn't Takumi realize how strong she was?
Takumi rolled his eyes. "Don't expect immediate results. No point in hyping it up. Let's keep playing. I'll deal with the Netherworld stuff later."
He dove back into the game. The Netherworld needed to be built eventually.
There weren't many issues now, since people didn't die of old age or illness, but someday that would change. Better to be prepared.
Now that Shiki Eiki had arrived, she could help. She had the experience.
Kaguya nodded without saying anything. After gaming for a while, she kicked Takumi out to go do his work.
Takumi was a bit annoyed but didn't argue.
"Prometheus, where's Shiki Eiki right now?"
He had no idea where she might be, so he asked.
"Miss Shiki Eiki is currently with Miss Hu Tao. Coordinates: xxx."
Prometheus gave the answer immediately.
Takumi was stunned. "What? She's with Hu Tao?"
Without delay, he opened a portal and jumped to the location Prometheus had mentioned.
Prometheus said no more—better for Takumi to see for himself.
Upon arriving, Takumi immediately heard Hu Tao's voice.
"So your job is like that? That's perfect! From now on, I'll handle the client sourcing, and you handle the judgment and reincarnation. That way, we can offer even more services!
"So please, Miss Eiki, join the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor! You'll be our Deputy Director!"
Hu Tao's eyes sparkled. After learning about Shiki Eiki, she gave an enthusiastic invitation.
This was too good to be true. A Yama King who could judge the dead?
It was brilliant.
Hu Tao would handle cremation and burial, and Eiki would judge souls and send them for reincarnation.
A full-service spiritual aftercare package!
Shiki Eiki, however, looked a bit speechless.
Though her face remained stern, you could see the resignation behind it.
Initially, she'd only approached Hu Tao out of curiosity. This world had no Netherworld. It was pristine—there didn't even seem to be any signs of death.
But she had noticed Hu Tao.
Mostly because the spot Hu Tao chose was incredible—a feng shui goldmine.
Eiki came to scout it out, considering whether she could build an Enma Hall there.
She never expected to meet such a unique girl.
The moment she sensed Hu Tao's aura, Eiki was astonished. So she introduced herself.
At first, Hu Tao thought she was a competitor and was a bit on guard. But once she understood Eiki's role, she warmed up instantly and extended her enthusiastic invitation.
