Chapter 16: The Heat That Lingers r18

The echo of Reina's heels clicking against the hallway floor filled her empty apartment as she entered, shoulders trembling from the weight of what had happened.

She leaned against the closed door, breathing heavily.

What did I do…?

Her fingers still remembered the feel of Rikuto's warmth, the way his hand moved over her, inside her — stirring up emotions and desires she had buried for years.

It was wrong.

She was his mother-in-law.

But the way he touched her — with care, with hunger — made her feel like a woman again, not just someone's mother.

She paced across the room, arms hugging herself tightly. Sleep wouldn't come that night. Not when her thoughts were full of his scent, his voice… his dragon, which she had felt press against her thigh even though he held back.

Her body burned with longing.

I shouldn't want this.

But she knew.

She would return.

Nightfall

The house was dim and warm, lit only by a small bedside lamp as Aya stepped out of the shower, towel clinging to her delicate figure. Her long hair cascaded down her back, still damp.

Rikuto sat at the edge of the bed, rolling his neck, tension clearly etched into every line of his body.

He hadn't touched himself after the noon encounter with Reina. Every bit of self-restraint he had was now cracking.

Aya noticed his mood immediately.

"You look… tense," she said with a soft giggle.

He looked up at her — and something in his eyes made her stomach flutter.

Desire.

Hunger.

Possession.

She bit her lip, walked toward him, and dropped the towel, revealing her soft, creamy skin. Her melons bounced slightly as she moved — petite but perfect for his palms.

"I wanted to make you happy tonight," she whispered.

Rikuto stood and pulled her close, burying his face into her neck. "You already do. Every single day."

She shivered under his breath.

But tonight, he couldn't hold back.

He scooped her up and laid her gently onto the bed, but there was a rawness in his kiss. A desperate edge. His dragon pressed against her soft belly, thick and aching for release.

Her hands moved down, guiding him between her wet folds.

When he entered her cave, her back arched instantly.

"R-Rikuto!" she gasped, voice trembling.

He moved fast, his rhythm deep and firm, pressing against every inch inside her. Her walls clenched around him as she whimpered into the sheets, her moans filling the room.

She was overwhelmed.

He usually made love with care.

But tonight… he devoured her.

Her legs wrapped around his waist, trapping him. Her nails dug into his back as his thrusts became more primal, her moans turning into cries of pleasure.

Every inch of her body trembled.

Her soft mounds bounced with every motion, beads of sweat glistening on her chest. His mouth found her peaks, suckling them between deep strokes.

She held onto him tightly, her voice barely a whisper between gasps. "I-It's too much… I can't—"

"You can," he growled softly into her ear, "because I need you."

Their bodies moved like fire meeting air — uncontrollable and dangerous.

And when they both reached that final, crashing wave, Aya clung to him as her voice broke into a scream muffled by his shoulder.

They lay there afterward, tangled and breathless.

"I wanted to surprise you," she whispered after minutes of silence.

"You did."

She smiled, eyes fluttering shut.

Within moments, she was asleep.

But Rikuto?

He stared at the ceiling, still haunted by Reina's trembling lips and soft moans in the hallway earlier that day.

Morning

Sunlight crept through the curtains.

Aya snuggled against Rikuto, still dozing peacefully.

The doorbell rang.

Rikuto blinked.

Then again — a soft ding-dong, insistent yet familiar.

He carefully untangled himself and grabbed a T-shirt.

When he opened the door…

Reina stood there, in a soft floral dress, hair tied back.

Their eyes met.

No words were spoken.

But Reina's cheeks flushed pink, and her eyes darted toward the bedroom.

She knew.

He knew.

And Aya… was still inside.
