"Another shot!"

The archmages were greatly encouraged to see Archimonde injured. Once this great demon couldn't withstand the damage from the Focusing Iris, he would surely dodge, and then the heroes would have a chance to destroy the portal.

Archimonde used fel energy to heal the huge wound on his chest, the flesh destroyed by the Disintegration Ray recovering at a speed visible to the naked eye. However, Aiden keenly noticed that Archimonde's size had shrunk a little. Although it wasn't obvious, it also meant his power had decreased!

If there were a few more opportunities like this, perhaps they could kill Archimonde without the self-explosion of the ancient elven souls. But Aiden immediately realized he was thinking too much.

As the second ray was being prepared, the first Burning Legion monster walked out of the portal—and what a shocking debut it was!

This was a mana-powered mech even taller than Archimonde. It was like a magical version of a Transformer, over twenty meters tall, its engine emitting a strange rumble, its whole body blazing with the signature green fel flames. Its appearance was incredibly terrifying!

This big guy's appearance completely stunned everyone.

Anna had already controlled the Focusing Iris to fire the Disintegration Ray again. But Archimonde only took a step back, standing behind the mana-powered mech. This ray hit the mana-powered mech, its super destructive power piercing through the engine in its chest, causing it to stall immediately.

Its journey in Azeroth ended in just a few seconds. With a bang, it fell onto the ruins, kicking up dust.

But immediately, a second mech walked out of the portal.

"We should retreat," Aiden said in a deep voice. They no longer had the chance to continue destroying the portal or seriously injure Archimonde.

Everyone's mood was heavy. Anna retracted the Focusing Iris.

Antonidas frowned, "I don't know how many more demons will enter Azeroth through the portal."

"We may have to prepare for a major retreat." Krasus had experienced the War of the Ancients, but there weren't things as terrifying as mana-powered mechs back then.

Now it seemed that retreating to Kalimdor and then uniting with the night elves to fight the Battle of Mount Hyjal was imperative.

They launched a retreat signal flare. Swain, who was commanding the Alliance forces on the Elder Path, immediately issued a retreat order, telling the Alliance to stop chasing. In fact, the Burning Legion demons led by Anatheron had been almost completely annihilated, and the few remaining lucky demons hid in corners, trying to conceal themselves, praying not to be found.

Demon guards and mana-powered mechs continued to emerge from the portal. Aiden and the others now had no chance to destroy the portal again. Archimonde, having escaped, would never stand there and take a beating like he had just done.

Aiden and the others retreated cautiously, and Archimonde did not pursue easily. He strode forward and shouted: "I will take my legion to Mount Hyjal and wait for you!"

Archimonde stared in the direction Aiden and the others were leaving: "If you dare to come, that will be your burial ground."

"Whose burial ground is still uncertain!" Aiden thought.

The Alliance retreated all the way to Dalaran, then took off again to return to Lordaeron.

Originally, the two assassins, Evelyn and Valeera, should have retreated from Silvermoon City with them. But Aiden only received a message from them when he boarded Dalaran—these two female heroes were prepared to continue lurking to see if there were any opportunities.

At this time, Dalaran had already taken off, and it was impossible for them to go back to meet the two. Aiden could only tell them to protect themselves.

The next day, Dalaran had just entered the Ghostlands when the air defense alarm suddenly sounded. The army immediately began to assemble, and the heroes rushed out from all directions. Everyone thought the Burning Legion demons had caught up, but there were no large numbers of enemies chasing in the sky. Instead, an incredible scene appeared:

"What's going on!"

"Look, what's that?"

"It looks like demons!"

"Did they fall to their deaths?"

The crowd was in an uproar, and no one understood what they were seeing.

A spectacle appeared in the sky: all kinds of Burning Legion monsters fell from the sky, but their positions were very scattered. The strangest thing was that some of them couldn't fly—such as demon guards, hellhounds, and succubi.

Aiden personally saw a demon guard smash into the ground like a meteor, shattering into pieces.

"What do you think?" Antonidas came to him and asked.

"I guess the portal malfunctioned."

"That's very likely."

Every now and then, Burning Legion demons would fall from the sky. Some could fly or were not afraid of falling, but more of them, like the demon guard Aiden saw, were smashed into meat paste.

Someone had helped them accomplish what they had wanted to do before. Aiden thought for a while, but couldn't figure out who had the ability to do this.

Could it be Medivh?

Aiden felt that this guardian, as a former astral mage, probably knew some abilities to tamper with the portal. Moreover, only he was so mysterious and tried every means to deal with the Burning Legion.

He hadn't imagined that the five heroes he summoned while traveling through time and space could do such an earth-shattering thing.

After the coordinates of the portal were modified, the vast majority of demons that entered later failed to find the correct landing posture. Demons were falling from the sky everywhere in Azeroth. Most of them fell into the sea, and most of those who successfully landed were killed by the fall. Most of those who weren't killed by the fall landed in the enemy's ranks. In short, less than one in ten survived, and they were scattered all over the world.

Therefore, the large army that Archimonde expected did not arrive. The portal only functioned normally for a dozen hours, and there were less than one hundred thousand demons in Silvermoon City.

The enraged Archimonde once again initiated an interstellar call, contacting Kil'jaeden, and then learned from his good brother about the changes that had occurred at the portal.

However, Archimonde no longer had the courage to reopen the portal—if he did so, after exhausting most of his power again, even a larger army might not be able to protect his safety.

"Kazzak!"

"My master, what are your orders?" Doom Lord Kazzak immediately came before his master to listen to his commands upon hearing Archimonde's summons.

"Lead your Doomguards and advance south! I want to ensure that no enemy can attack our rear from the air," Archimonde ordered.

In these two great battles, the Burning Legion's air power completely failed to play its role. They were suppressed by the native coalition's helicopters, gryphons, dragonhawks, and the like. The Doomguards were completely wiped out, and both Grand Warlocks of the Nathrezim demons were killed in battle. The Scourge's ghouls were also completely wiped out.

Archimonde did not find the bodies of Arthas and Anetheron on the battlefield, so he assumed they were dead. He did not yet know that these two fellows, thinking that the Burning Legion was losing ground, had fled to Northrend.

In fact, even if he did know, Archimonde wouldn't care too much. Once he conquered this world, he would have plenty of time and means to deal with traitors!

As for now, although he still had a small number of troops in his hands, these demons were all elite forces of the Burning Legion. He was confident that he could lead this army to complete the conquest.

Moreover, the demons that had scattered to Azeroth could also slightly replenish their strength. Perhaps they could even bring him a little surprise—he knew that his lieutenant Mannoroth had also come to this world. The 'Destroyer' certainly wouldn't have died from the fall. Archimonde expected that when they met again, this pit lord would bring him some surprises.

More than a hundred fel reaver mechs started their engines and advanced southward at the forefront, followed by countless demon armies.

These mechs were manufactured by the Mo'arg engineers from a world conquered and corrupted by the Burning Legion. Under Archimonde's special instructions, this time a large number of Mo'arg engineers were teleported over along with the fel reaver mechs. As long as they found suitable materials, they could mass-produce fel reaver mechs in Azeroth.

When that time came, all enemies of the Burning Legion would be crushed by these powerful demonic machines!

To protect their safety, Archimonde specifically left these fragile engineers in Silvermoon City to build a forge camp that could produce fel reaver mechs, and left some elite demons to protect their safety.

But Kil'jaeden never expected that there was an internal spy in his demon army. Even more unexpectedly, there were still two heroes who had not left the city—Evelynn and Valeera. They were still staying in the city waiting for an opportunity.

And this opportunity was just around the corner.

The heroes of Valoron were already very familiar with each other. Evelynn discovered Kog'Maw, who was mixed in with the Burning Legion, almost immediately. She secretly sent a signal to Kog'Maw. After the two met, Kog'Maw told her everything he knew about the Burning Legion, as well as what had happened in the Twisting Nether.

"Should I go back with you now to find the commander?" Kog'Maw asked after finishing the information.

Evelynn giggled and said, "Don't rush, I'll decide after I report to the commander! But I think it's good for you to stay here. Those of the Burning Legion... are very suitable for you."

"But I want to eat them..." Kog'Maw said innocently. As soon as he mentioned eating, he immediately felt even more hungry.

Evelynn transmitted the message to Aiden in Dalaran through the arcane communicator. Only then did he understand that the changes that had occurred to the Burning Legion's portal were the handiwork of those heroes in the Twisting Nether.

"Let Kog'Maw continue to stay in the Burning Legion. I think this might be a good move!" Aiden made a decision without much thought.

Also, the forge camp, the Mo'arg engineers must be eliminated as soon as possible. If the Burning Legion establishes a fel reaver mech production line in Azeroth, that would definitely be bad news.

This kind of arcane technology is definitely a nightmare for conventional forces. In front of that huge steel body, no defense is strong and safe. I'm afraid that iron fist can smash through the city gate in a few hits.

Even the existing hundred or so are enough to crush many legions. We must not let the forge camp produce fel reaver mechs!

Since the Burning Legion's army is heading south, Aiden immediately decided to send a suitable hero to sneak into Silvermoon City silently and blow the forge camp to the sky!
