The disaster currently facing Azeroth, if corresponding to a game version, would be the "Cataclysm" version in history.
In the game, the current expansion has gradually opened several large instances to players. These are "Twilight Highlands", "Firelands", "Throne of the Four Winds", and finally "Dragon Soul". The corresponding bosses and forces are Dragon Mother Sinestra, who manipulates the Twilight's Hammer behind the scenes, Ragnaros, who invades Hyjal and attempts to destroy the World Tree, Al'Akir the Windlord, who wants to occupy the Halls of Origination, and the final BOSS, the insane Deathwing, who is preparing to destroy the world.
As for the powerful Chromatic Dragon, it did not appear in the game version. It only appeared in related plots and official novels.
Although this is a real world, it still basically follows the rules of the game.
Now that Sinestra is dead, and Twilight Highlands has long been destroyed, Aiden cannot find the hiding places of Deathwing and the Chromatic Dragon for the time being, but he believes that as long as he follows the game's logic—further pushing down Throne of the Four Winds and Firelands—the two true world-destroyers hiding behind the scenes will naturally appear.
He learned from the four Ulduar guardians who came to support that the war in Skywall is in full swing, and it needs a decisive force to join in order to completely defeat Al'Akir.
Without much consideration, Aiden immediately teleported to Uldum with the guardians, and then prepared to go directly to Throne of the Four Winds and kill Al'Akir.
This is a chaotic world. Although the changes can still be explained from a game perspective, some places have completely changed.
In the Eastern Kingdoms, Medivh and Cenarius tracked the demons' footprints all the way and met in the Blasted Lands.
The destroyer Mannoroth disappeared here.
Medivh thought about it and felt that the other party was very likely to have gone to Deadwind Pass—that's not a good place.
Deep in Deadwind Pass is a place where Azeroth's arcane energy is unusually active, second only to the Blue Dragon King's residence—the Nexus.
The active arcane energy here makes it a paradise for mages.
Decades ago, Medivh built his magic tower in this unusually remote place. That Medivh was not the current Guardian Medivh, but the evil mage controlled by Sargeras' dark soul.
In those years, the evil Medivh planned countless conspiracies in this magic tower called Karazhan, including cooperating with Gul'dan of Draenor, assisting the other party in establishing the Dark Portal, and guiding the Horde army to attack Stormwind City, etc.
That was just a small part of his evil plan.
Sargeras' ultimate goal has always been only one—to completely destroy Azeroth!
Using the orcs and planning a little conspiracy did not require much effort. In fact, in those decades, Sargeras devoted most of his energy to another huge and precise plan.
If that plan could be realized, then everything would change.
That's not just Azeroth, but the entire universe, and even the rules beyond "World of Warcraft" would be completely changed!
Unfortunately, he was ambushed by Khadgar, Lothar, and others before he could complete this great cause. His body died, and his soul was exiled to the Twisting Nether. That plan was also shelved indefinitely.
Now, this plan has been restarted under the leadership of Kil'jaeden, the current commander of the Burning Legion.
The entire Deadwind Pass is full of strange rocks and eerie atmosphere, completely unsuitable for human survival. Under normal circumstances, except for travelers who must pass through Duskwood to go to the Swamp of Sorrows, there will be no living people in Deadwind Pass.
Medivh turned into a black raven and traveled through the dim stone forest. In the past few years since he was resurrected by his mother, he had never returned to this sad place. He instinctively rejected this place. Every part of the memory of Karazhan in his memory was full of darkness and evil.
In that high tower, Sargeras used Medivh's body and identity to create a twenty-year-long struggle and hatred between two worlds, which will continue.
Until today, when most people mention Medivh, their first impression of him must be that evil wizard hiding in the tower of Karazhan, waiting for an opportunity to destroy the world.
He was implicated by Sargeras and has a bad reputation in the eyes of humans.
Even though the current Medivh has been reborn, such dark memories still deeply sting his soul.
This was the first time he had returned here in a few years. In the black mist, the tower, which looked a little dilapidated, was looming. The closer he got to it, the more he felt a strong unease in his heart.
"The aura of demons, there's no mistake, I've come to the right place."
Medivh was extremely sensitive to the smell emitted by the demons of the Burning Legion. Perhaps no one in the world knew the habits and characteristics of those demons from the Twisting Nether better than him.
His dark eyes stared at Karazhan, half cold and half eager.
After a year, he finally found the demons' hiding place.
Medivh was absolutely certain that the destroyer Mannoroth was hiding in Karazhan!

In a forest in the Swamp of Sorrows, Medivh and Cenarius met again.
"Have you confirmed?" Cenarius asked.
"Yes. I felt its aura, in the tower," Medivh replied in a deep voice.
"Has it not discovered you?"
"No."
"Then," Cenarius pondered for a while, "are we, plus my 'Children of the Forest', enough?"
The Children of the Forest are the followers who serve Cenarius. Most of them are night elves, but there are also many tauren, as well as treants, beasts, and Cenarius' offspring.
Although the number is not large, the strength should not be underestimated.
Medivh said: "If we are only dealing with Mannoroth, it should be more than enough." Medivh was not alone either. As long as he was willing to ask for help, he could easily gather a group of powerful mages, but he did not do so. "But I think our enemies are not just the demons who are stranded in Azeroth."
Cenarius asked: "Medivh, what have you discovered?"
"The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands, it is now in Karazhan."
"Could it be…"
"I'm afraid the Burning Legion will make a big deal out of it. We must prepare for the worst."
"It seems that we can no longer solve this matter with our private forces. Tell others!"
After making a decision, Cenarius and Medivh separated immediately. The former prepared to go to Mount Hyjal to notify the Guardian Dragons and summon mortals through his disciple Malfurion; the latter was going to Dalaran first to inform Archmage Antonidas, and then go to find Aiden.
The Burning Legion, this name brought a great sense of urgency to Medivh. He knew very well how powerful, how cunning, and how terrifying the number of these demons were.
Now that the demons are planning a conspiracy, he must find a way to stop them immediately. Maybe just one step late could lead to a real disaster.

From a game perspective, the Cataclysm version has nothing to do with the Burning Legion. This is a world-destroying catastrophe planned by the Old Gods behind the scenes from beginning to end. But now, in this "free script" timeline, a fierce collision is about to occur between the two.
The destroyer Mannoroth, who was hiding in Karazhan, did not know that the owner of this tower had sneaked in to investigate today.
The abyss demon was standing respectfully on the side, reporting to Kil'jaeden's phantom in the magic circle: "The progress has been very smooth these past few days, my master. Since the seal of the elemental plane was lifted, the process of opening the mirror image has been much faster. It won't be long before this Dark Portal can be successfully connected to Reverse Karazhan, and then your great plan can be realized!"
"Very good, Mannoroth." Kil'jaeden narrowed his eyes, very satisfied with the other party's report, "Pay attention to hiding your whereabouts and don't reveal the slightest trace. We want to give this world a big surprise!"
"Yes, my great master!"
"There is one more thing you must remember," Kil'jaeden specially instructed, "This is not my plan, it is the plan of our true master. The great Sargeras is about to return, and then you and I will be the greatest contributors to welcoming the master. Remember that?"
"Yes, yes, master, everything is for Sargeras' great will!"
It was not until Kil'jaeden's phantom completely disappeared that Mannoroth finally breathed a sigh of relief.
To be honest, it didn't like dealing with Kil'jaeden very much.
It was originally a confidant of Archimonde. This master always expressed his emotions directly, respected strength, and as long as he had strength, he could get his appreciation. Working under the "Polluter" only required being brave and fearless, and having enough strength to always be favored and rewarded.
Kil'jaeden was different. This was an unpredictable master. He was best at conspiracies and tricks, and liked to play with people's hearts, which happened to be the field that the well-developed and simple-minded abyss demon was least good at.
After Archimonde's death, Mannoroth had no choice but to be loyal to Kil'jaeden and accept the command of this new master. Its days suddenly became not so comfortable.
For example, now, it was expressing its loyalty to Kil'jaeden, but the other party reminded it to be loyal to the "Dark Titan" Sargeras!
Who in the Burning Legion didn't know that Sargeras' soul had returned to the Twisting Nether, and who didn't know how huge the price would be to resurrect the strongest warrior in the universe?
Mannoroth didn't think that little Azeroth had the power to resurrect Sargeras.
Thinking of this, Mannoroth suddenly felt that the Deceiver's words were questioning its loyalty, but they were said in a relatively euphemistic and secret way.
This feeling made it very irritable. It missed the ten thousand years it had worked under Lord Archimonde. It wondered when this Lord would be resurrected?
