Resurrection

The news brought by the Storm Giant dismayed Golganneth and Aggramar. Although the fighting in the past few days was not intense, both sides had invested a total of 200,000 troops. With such a large base, the Pantheon side had thousands of casualties in these few days.

The corpses of these fallen giants were transported to the rear of the combat zone, with only a small number of personnel assigned to guard them.

Even though giants are merely creations of the Titans, essentially similar to robots dedicated to combat, the majesty of the Pantheon is supreme, and the Titans would never allow any enemy to desecrate the corpses of the fallen!

Upon hearing that the Ancient God's minions had snatched away the giants' corpses, the Titans were immediately filled with immense anger. This hatred was no less than their hatred for the Burning Legion, perhaps even surpassing it—after all, the two major forces were not truly enemies; only the Ancient Gods were their real foes.

It was clear that this fair duel could not continue. Golganneth left the battlefield and sprinted towards the rear base. Aggramar directed the other Titans and giants to gather their troops and withdraw from the battlefield according to orders.

Seeing this scene, a pit lord in the Burning Legion gloated, "Looks like these Titans are out of luck."

Kil'jaeden glared at it; he was not so optimistic.

"Check our graveyards immediately!" he ordered.

However, before the doom lord who received the order could depart, an eredar warlock teleported over and brought the legion commander Kil'jaeden the same news—the corpses of demons in their graveyards had also been dragged underground by the tentacles of the Ancient Gods!

Kil'jaeden's expression immediately darkened.

The war between the Pantheon and the Burning Legion thus ended inconclusively. Aiden looked at the Moon Goddess and asked, "What abilities does this Tarim possess?"

"Devouring. Its ability is devouring," Mu'sha replied, her expression extremely solemn. "There is almost nothing it cannot devour, and no matter what it devours, it will become even stronger! Especially corpses—that is its favorite food, so it is most enthusiastic about launching wars!"

In ancient times, Tarim was not so strong, at least not strong enough to independently contend with the combined forces of the other four Ancient Gods in the sky. But it still launched a war without hesitation, driving its minions to attack any enemy!

For a considerable amount of time, Tarim was at an absolute disadvantage. But tens of thousands of years passed, and the four Sun Gods still failed to kill Tarim, instead allowing Tarim to continuously devour corpses and become incredibly powerful.

After that, until the end of the War of the Ancients, Tarim continued to grow stronger, so much so that even the combined forces of the four Sun Gods could not contend with it ten thousand years ago. If it hadn't been for the Titans dispatched by the Pantheon coming here and joining forces with Mu'sha, Tarim would have become the sole god of Shiresse thousands of years ago.

In the final battle, its body was completely destroyed, and all known minions were killed. Everyone thought it was completely dead, but now it seems that the truth is not so.

After listening to the Moon Goddess's account, Aiden felt a tightening in his heart. "So we have to eliminate it quickly, otherwise it will become stronger and stronger?"

"Yes."

"Who from the Pantheon participated in killing it back then?"

"Seven Titans."

"Ordinary Titans?"

"Yes."

Aiden then breathed a sigh of relief.

Ten thousand years ago, Tarim's strength was at its peak, and Mu'sha, in cooperation with seven ordinary Titans, was able to kill it—perhaps with the addition of the efforts of the four Sun Gods. However, now Shiresse has more than twenty ordinary Titans from the Pantheon, as well as Golganneth and Aggramar, two more powerful Pantheon Titans. Adding Aiden, who holds the highest authority of the Titans, and the True God Mu'sha and Kayle, whose strength is not much different from Mu'sha, even excluding the Burning Legion, the overall strength far exceeds that of ten thousand years ago.

With such strength, defeating and killing Tarim again should not be very difficult.

Just as he was thinking this, his expression suddenly changed drastically, as did Mu'sha's—because at that instant, he felt extremely dangerous fluctuations coming from Shiresse's sub-planes—the so-called "sub-planes" are planes that are attached to the main material plane, such as the elemental planes and the Dream, etc.

Shiresse does not have the Emerald Dream; the sub-planes are the four elemental planes—and those elements should have been allies of the Shiresse Allied Forces!

Aiden sensed that the gates to the elemental planes suddenly opened, and then four powerful Elemental Lords appeared in his perception.

"Elemental Lords?"

Aiden looked at Mu'sha.

He remembered Mu'sha telling him that during the War of the Ancients, the four Elemental Lords had perished together with Tarim.

But now it seems that these Elemental Lords are even more powerful than the four in Azeroth!

This is easy to understand, because Shiresse's arcane energy is more abundant than Azeroth's, and elemental creatures will naturally benefit.

"They… are resurrected!" Mu'sha's eyes were filled with sadness.

The Elemental Lords were once her most steadfast allies, but now these elements have become corrupted.

Now that these Elemental Lords have been resurrected together with Tarim, there can only be one possibility—that they have fallen.

"War is coming," Aiden said in a low voice.

He looked towards the direction of Vientiane Mountain. Mu'sha had said that it was the place where Tarim fell ten thousand years ago, and Gohr was also sealed there. After the Pantheon's troops teleported over, they chose to use it as a temporary base.

Now it has become the site where the Ancient Gods and the Pantheon are fighting, and also the place where Tarim is resurrected.

Aiden heard the horns of war coming from Vientiane Mountain. It was "Wrathbringer" Golganneth blowing his artifact—the horn "Shargaen."

That meant real combat. Previously, he had only blown the horn once when he went to war with the Burning Legion, and it was only used as an offensive slogan, without containing divine power.

This time was different. Even hundreds of miles away, Aiden could still feel the surging magical fluctuations coming from the horn. The enemies attacked by the sound waves emitted by this horn would probably not fare well.

The great battle had already begun.

Aiden ordered Kayle to deploy the angel legions to prepare for battle. He was also preparing to return to Cardall Fortress when "Avenger" Aggramar suddenly came running. The military commander of the Pantheon had an unprecedented look of panic on his face, which was extremely rare for Titans, who were essentially intelligent robots.

It should be known that he was not a newbie participating in battle for the first time. Before becoming Sargeras's successor, Aggramar had been campaigning east and west in the legion for hundreds of thousands of years, and had faced countless enemies.

What could scare Aggramar?

"Lord, Lord Aiden!" Aggramar stumbled and ran to Aiden, as if grabbing the last straw, his voice trembling as he said, "Your Excellency, Golganneth, he… was captured by the Ancient God!"

"What?" Aiden's eyes widened, staring fixedly at Aggramar, hoping that the other party was just joking. Although he knew that Titans never joked.

But… how could it be so fast?

He had only heard the horn a few minutes ago. As a member of the Pantheon, one of the most powerful Titans, and with no one restricting his abilities, Aiden felt that even if Golganneth and Tarim fought one-on-one, he had a chance of winning.

Even if he couldn't win, he could always escape. How could he be captured by Tarim so quickly?

"'Wrathbringer' was dragged underground by Tarim," Aggramar's bronze skin was almost twisted. He presented the divine sword "Flame Ripper" with both hands, and said resolutely, "Your Excellency, please unlock the seal on this sword. I must go save him!"

Whether out of affection or duty, Aggramar could not sit idly by and watch Golganneth be captured. He was only the last seat of the Pantheon, while Golganneth was the son of Aman'Thul and Eonar, no different from a prince. If he didn't rescue Golganneth, he would have no face to return to the Pantheon!

Aiden stretched out his hand and wiped the sword, removing the previously set seal.

Aggramar bowed gratefully, then turned to leave.

"Wait!" Aiden called out to the other party. Aggramar thought that this lord was going to dissuade him, but he had already made up his mind that he had to do this. However, the other party followed up and said, "Let's go together!"

"Thank you very much!" Aggramar simply couldn't express his excitement in words, and at the same time felt extremely guilty.

Previously, he and Golganneth had offended this powerful lord. He never expected that when they really encountered danger, the other party would be so understanding, not only not holding grudges, but also willing to lend a hand to help them.

This made him feel ashamed of his previous conjecture that the other party had a secret agreement with the Burning Legion.

Aggramar couldn't refuse either. He knew that even with the unlocked Flame Ripper, the rescue operation would be full of difficulties, and with Aiden's participation, their chances of winning would immediately increase greatly.

"I will watch you from the sky," the Moon Goddess said softly.

Mu'sha knew very well that the underground was not her home field, and even if she joined, she couldn't provide much help. It would be better to monitor Tarim and its minions' movements for them and help their army establish an advantage.

On the way to Vientiane Mountain, Aggramar told Aiden all the previous changes.

It turned out that after the Storm Giant sent a message telling them that the corpses had been dragged away by tentacles extending from the ground, Golganneth teleported back to the base of Vientiane Mountain as soon as possible. As soon as he arrived at the scene, Tarim suddenly launched an attack. Countless tentacles surged out from the ground, and countless cracks opened in the ground, all filled with sharp fangs—that was part of Tarim's body.

Golganneth's feet were entangled. He struggled to break free, but was immediately hugged by more tentacles and dragged hard towards the ground. Tarim's open mouth was waiting for him.

"Wrathbringer" was furious. He took off his horn and blew it vigorously. The sound waves emitted by this artifact caused Tarim to howl miserably, and the surrounding mouthparts and tentacles were shattered into minced meat!

With just this one blow, Golganneth resolved the Ancient God's conspiracy.

But this was just the beginning…
