Chapter 36: Shocking the Entire Field

The moment his name was called, Vincent Fox strolled up to the stage with unhurried steps.

He could feel it countless eyes locked onto him.

But Vincent didn't care.

So what if they stared? It wasn't like he'd lose a chunk of flesh.

Reaching the platform, the evaluator asked, "What attribute did you invest your Forbidden Zone rewards into?"

"All into Spirit," Vincent answered calmly.

The evaluator blinked, caught off guard.

All into Spirit?

That usually only meant one thing.

"You've awakened a supernatural talent, haven't you?" the evaluator asked, growing intrigued.

Vincent nodded. "I have."

"Oh? What kind of talent? Can you show me?" the evaluator asked, curiosity piqued.

"Of course."

As soon as the words left his lips, Vincent raised his right hand and activated his will.

"Fwoosh!"

A ball of fierce flame ignited in his palm.

The evaluator flinched instinctively.

And then froze in shock.

He wasn't alone.

Every single person present including the upperclassmen casually watching from the windows of the nearby academic building was stunned.

The entire field fell dead silent, not even the chirp of a bird or a whisper of wind.

Everyone was reeling.

It wasn't that supernatural talents were unheard of… but someone possessing one shouldn't exist at a no-name like this.

If this were Godslayer , no one would be this shocked.

"He he has a Flame Talent?"

"Wait… don't tell me he completed Task 3? The hardest mission?!"

Gasps echoed across the student body.

Even the veteran upperclassmen were shaken. Many of them had braved countless trips into Forbidden Zones without ever gaining a supernatural ability…

The field broke into chaos, voices rising in disbelief and awe.

"Everyone quiet down!"

At that crucial moment, the Dean stepped onto the platform, microphone in hand, and addressed the crowd.

"Vincent Fox did not choose the most difficult Task 3. Like most of you, he completed Task 1. However, Vincent has shown us something remarkable when one receives the highest mission evaluation, there is a small chance to unlock a supernatural talent!"

"So I urge all of you: train hard, and strive to follow in Vincent Fox's footsteps!"

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

An extra talent for a top-tier rating?

Could that be true?

There was no way to verify it after all, only one person had ever received the highest mission grade.

Naturally, whatever he said… became the truth.

Still, the Dean's speech reignited the hope in many hearts.

If a regular student could achieve this… maybe they could too. Maybe they weren't doomed to always be weaker than those born with a hero's gift.

A spark lit up in their eyes.

Below the stage, Autumn Summer watched Vincent with surprise that slowly gave way to a radiant smile.

She was genuinely happy for him.

"Sir, can we proceed with the test now?" Vincent asked lazily on stage.

"Ah? Y-yes! Of course!" The evaluator snapped back to focus. "Since you've awakened a supernatural talent, we'll test its destructive capability directly."

He retrieved a humanoid dummy target and positioned it. "Hit it with your full power."

Vincent nodded. He focused, then fired off a blazing punch his signature Fire Fist.

"Boom!"

A wave of searing fire blasted from his hand like a missile, striking the dummy dead-on.

Flames exploded outward in a brilliant inferno.

The dummy was torn apart, shattered into pieces, its remnants still smoldering and crackling on the ground.

The shockwave stunned the crowd.

Even the evaluator was blown away.

The field erupted in awe.

Moments later, the evaluator glanced at the destruction, then confirmed his assessment.

"C-Rank destructive power!"

He looked at Vincent with disbelief.

To think this was after just a single expedition into Zone 2…

C-Rank combat ability this early on? Even Godslayer 's most elite freshmen rarely reached that so soon. Only those who'd successfully fused with an S-Rank hero talent could rival it.

"Vincent Fox, this is your official power certification. Present it to City Hall to receive your strength medal. As a C-Rank supernatural talent holder, you'll receive a monthly stipend of three thousand credits, plus other perks…"

"And this " the evaluator suddenly handed over a card "is my contact. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to reach out to me directly."

He smiled, polite to the point of flattery.

It was genuine.

Anyone with eyes could see that if Vincent stayed on track, he was destined to become a legend. Forming ties with him now could yield incredible benefits in the future.

Vincent gave a light smile and nodded graciously. "Thank you."

He accepted the documents and the card.

There were too many people watching refusing the card outright would come across as arrogant.

And Vincent wasn't the arrogant type.
