looking for a cultivation technique

Wu Zhi had an advantage others did not. He had memories from his previous life.

'Ok, so it turns out I was an avid reader before death, and the cultivation knowledge I had all pertained to fantasy books. Great' he thought as he rolled his eyes. 'The perfect source of information I could ask for. Still, the information had some merit, it turns out that a lot of information about the fantasy books lined up perfectly with this worlds structure. Hmm, I can use this, if things are so similar, then its best to heed some advice from my previous life. When it came to cultivation novels they always, ALWAYS, presented the importance of foundation. What you need to succeed when you were at a higher cultivation - guess what the answer was - it was foundation. What was the difference between the main character and everyone else? Most of the time it was foundation - or some stupid cheat skill. But regardless every single novel he read about in his past life, that had cultivation in it - either reinforced the power, importance, or necessity of foundation. So that is what he was going to focus on. Should he still look for a blood cultivation technique that somehow focused on dual cultivation and mediation. Obviously he was going to look for a cultivation technique like that. However he seriously doubted that the sect had one. Why? Because of just how rare one such technique would be. He had a very rare element with an even more supposed rare dual specialization. He didn't even know how rare it was to get a dual cultivation or a meditation specialization was. With all of that combined he had no doubt he wouldn't find the "right" cultivation technique for him. Plus he couldn't even cultivate the technique right now even if he did find it. Because it was a dual cultivation technique, he would have to wait until he's an adult and then find a partner who would also cultivate it. The chances of finding a women his age, willing to dual cultivate with him, that also has a blood element, and or a specialization in dual cultivation was slim, to say the least. Wu Zhi was no moron, he had experience that begets his age. There was no way he was going to go on an endless wild goose chase to fit all the right conditions to get the perfect technique. A much better option was to go with a generic foundation building technique while waiting for the perfect conditions to align. He could also just look for a blood cultivation technique without any supposed specializations to it.'

With that he entered the library and asked the librarian some questions.

"I would like a list of all blood related cultivation techniques and any cultivation techniques that anyone can practice regardless of element or specialization."

The librarian took a loot at him, said nothing and quickly made the list by writing some things down on some paper and then handed it over to him.

"Here's the list that meets your recommendations. I limited it to only qi refining techniques, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask."

she handed him the paper, he said thanks, and quickly read the list to see what was on it.

"Bone refinement technique" column 3 row 4.

"Viscera refinement technique" column 3 row 4.

"Skin refinement technique" column 3 row 4.

"Bull maddening art" column 4 row 2.

"Blood resonance art" column 8 row 1.

"32 hidden acupunctures" column 3 row 4.

"Impurity removal art" column 3 row 3.

"Jade bone art" column 3 row 4.

"Treasure refinement art" column 5 row 1.

"Greater qi refining technique" column 1 row 1.

"Meridian enchantment art" column 1 row 3.

"Foundation building art" column 3 row 4.

"Spiritual enchantment art" column 1 row 3.

"Talent refining art" column 4 row 2.

there were many more techniques on the paper, however Wu Zhi didn't have unlimited time. So he just focused on the ones that sounded like they would be the best fit for him. After all, the sect only provides one free technique to get started. 'I bet you have to pay contribution points or do some favors to get the opportunity to get more techniques. Plus these all sounded like great foundational building techniques, especially the foundation building art'.

With that Wu Zhi went to go grab up all the techniques to see what was good and what wasn't.

'So it turns out the foundation building art is just a "jack of all trades" body refinement art. while skin, viscera, or bone refinement art might focus all one area of the body to refine. It seems foundation building art does it all and more. The downside however is that its exceptionally weak, and it takes more time to practice it. Given how much more your refining your body. Its unfortunately a pass for now. However I can come back to it later. It might be my second or third technique. As for Bone, Viscera, and Skin refinement techniques, its another pass. The reason being that the 32 hidden acupunctures just looks better in everyway. As for the jade bone art... honestly he didn't know why this wasn't labeled as a demonic art, it seems cruel to oneself. The art was about replacing your bones with a type of jade and using the art to make that piece of jade into your bone. Needless to say, it was exceptionally painful, and bloody. The trade-off being that you got a quick boost in endurance and durability. But the main problem with this art is the jade required to use it is very rare, hard to get, and quite expensive. the blood resonance art was a fool's errand. It was all about strengthening your bloodline and awakening it. It sounds good on paper but when you realize Wu Zhi has no apparent bloodline, its a complete gamble. Sure he could have a very unique, and very powerful bloodline rarely seen. Or he could have nothing good and it would be a complete waste of time and effort. With uncertainty like this, only a fool would bet everything on himself being something special without any way to prove it'.

There was some very unique things with the other techniques as well, meriting some attention especially when he could get more techniques. But the answer to what technique he should learn first, became obvious to him.

It had to be the 32 hidden acupunctures.
