Wu Zhi went back to the dorms to cultivate the night away cause he already had plenty of sleep. When the time came, he went to the schooling sector of the sect in search of the dean's office. Asking around he eventually found his way to the office of the dean. *Knock* *Knock* "come in" he heard from inside. When he entered the room he saw the dean sitting at his desk. It was a rather medium sized room, smaller than what you'd expect coming from someone as high as the dean. "Ah, welcome, I forgot to ask, as it was a slip of my mind but what's your name child". Somehow Wu Zhi thought he already knew it. 'Like he was asking just for the sake of being polite'. "It's Wu Zhi sir" he responded. "Great, you can call me elder Ming or Dean if you'd like". "Thank you dean, its an honor to meet you personally". "Ok, enough with the pleasantries, I called you here today for business. I as an elder of the sect want to sponsor you in exchange for some favors". Wu Zhi raised in internal eyebrow 'what do you mean favors'? "And what elder Ming, would these favors be"? "It's simple, when you grow up and have a presence in the sect I want you to come over to my faction and support our cause. Before you ask, this is a political cause, there is nothing more to it than bringing more benefits to the people involved with our faction.... Oh, and I want you to marry my daughter". 'What?... What? Who asks a six year old to marry their daughter after interacting with them once. Their were too many things that weren't adding up. One, why was this elder so focused on recruiting him to his political party. Two, why was he willing to give up his daughter to a stranger he just met. Three, why was he acting like this was a completely normal request. This stunk to high hell as a fishy contract. Like when a music artist was about to hit it big, a talent agency would sweep in and give them the worst contract they could, before they became famous'. "And what would I be getting out of this"? "First I would give you some incense to help with meditation. Not the cheap stuff, the real stuff, stuff that would make core formation experts turn their eye. Second I would be giving you a dual cultivation partner. This meets both your specializations and would be explosive for your growth. Third, I would give you a blood combat technique very useful to someone with your element. It is a great fighting technique that nobody but those with a blood element can use". 'Isn't that every element though?' He silently thought to himself. "Last but not least, it goes without saying but you'll have an elder of the sect as your backer. This is very important in the cultivation world and can not be underestimated" He said. 'It sounds good... almost too good. Like he said himself it meets all his requirements, its exactly what he needed if he wanted to improve his cultivation. But that begs the question... Why? Why was he giving everything he needed. There was no way he would take a gamble on a six year old cultivator to increase his political standing in the sect. There was something he was missing but he wasn't quite sure what it was'. "Can you give me some time to think about it?" he asked. The elder just stared at him with a blank look. After a while he said "Sure, sure. Just make sure you have an answer by tomorrow". With that Whu Zhi said his thanks and left the room. "Strange... I thought he would be jumping with joy and agree to it in no time". The elder said seemingly to nobody but himself. "Maybe he is suspicious because its such a good deal" A voice that seemed to come from nowhere responded. "A six year old boy with caution like that. It seems the divination results might not have been exaggerated" Elder Ming responded. "That remains to be seen. We can only know in the future if he will be as auspicious as the results lead him to be. Either way, its hardly an investment were giving him, if he turns out to be a dud we won't lose much". Elder Ming had a sharp look to him "I'd be carful with your tongue if I were you, Gu Bing" Elder Ming said as an obvious threat. "Hehe" she giggled as she said "of course, of course, we wouldn't want your daughter to be labeled as a worthless expenditure. That was a slip of the tongue, it won't happen again". "It better not be" he said in a stern voice. "Either way we will have to wait for the boy's response. We can only speculate for now what fortune he might bring to the clan" Elder Ming said in a low voice. "Right then, I'll be on my way, as you know I have important things to do, as the number one candidate to be the young heir of the clan." She said as she raised her voice when she emphasized the last part her speech. 'Good grief' elder Ming thought to himself, "the young are so bold nowadays". With that he went back to doing his work as the dean of the Flying Wind sect. "I wonder what the future has in store for us" he mused to himself.
