'It's shattered frozen body began to melt, without a mana core, the evolution faltered.
'It' thought that she was dying without knowing she was only going into an evolution.
Because her body was water, the mana core had to freeze her entire body so the evolution could go on.
She didn't know this and gained the emotion of fear.
And created the idea of her dying, allowing "Chaos" to take hold of her, influencing her to take the power of a corrupted being, making her one.
As the melted water of hers joins together, the mana core that has been destroyed as well moves to the puddle being created.
Within the destroyed mana core, the sphere that was forced inside of her by the cloud-like creature appeared, a crimson red sphere the size of a grain of sand... without a warning it expanded, devouring over the mana core she once had.
The heroes didn't know, all of this was happening in the background.
Only one person saw all of this happen, Clark, who had been clearing this dungeon all these years, knows that the boss monster took a long time to form due to him.
But he didn't expect that the Chaos would take it chance to corrupt the boss monster now.
This dungeon was the first one to be born in the entire world.
Before Clark was born, Sister Emilia was the one who was clearing the dungeon, making sure a dungeon break wouldn't happen.
Being raised by her, he had heard her tell the story that this dungeon was once crawling with endless Corrupted and Chaos beings back when the < True Hero > was still alive.
Making it once a gold mine for corrupted gems.
But after countless clearings, humanity took advantage of an endless supply of gems, allowing them to fight back against the Corrupted and Chaos beings, even without the help of the < True Hero>.
"Chaos" did not like this and abandoned it entirely and made hundreds of dungeons all over the world.
Allowing the Chao's influence on the monster inside the dungeon and allowing them to wreak havoc on the surface world.
Although he knew Sister Emilia was not lying, he didn't believe it entirely, he, who had been clearing this dungeon for more than a decade, not once had fought a corrupted being in here at all.
But right now, he had watched how Chaos influenced the boss monster he had been killing all this year.
Was he worried and scared for the hero's safety?
No, he was not, even if he never once fought a corrupted being in this dungeon; that doesn't mean he never once fought one before.
He had killed hundreds of corrupted beings around the world on his own when the summoned heroes failed to do so.
He didn't just kill one or two of them, but tens of them once all on his own.
And they weren't just weak corrupted beings, they were all around level 10-15 at best.
In the current era, he is known as one of the strongest people in the world, who can take on the corrupted beings without a problem.
Even without the help of the Heroes, alongside being the only person in the world to have the title [True Ranker].
....
[Appraisal] Clark murmurs as he watches from above the ceiling near the chandelier.
The target of his appraisal was the boss monster that had been corrupted and finally reborn.
Narrowing his eyes on the panels before him, he sighed, not in relief but in disappointment, looking at the level of corruption.
===
Name: N/A
Level: 20
Corrupted level: 5
Monster type: Centipede
Skill: Dirt eater
Corrupted power: Extra Size
===
"WEAK" that was the opinion he gave on the corrupted being before him.
He thought for sure the boss monster would be tougher now, but it had the same level and skill as the one he had been killing all this time.
The fact that it was still level 20 and had the same skill, Dirt Eater, was a complete disappointment for him.
The skill it had was just the ability to eat the spike inside the room and grow larger, up to 5 meters at best.
Even its corrupted power was boring for him. [Extra Size] was simply the ability to grow larger up to 10 meters at best.
For the Heroes who succeeded in clearing the 100-meter long area, this fight would be easy for them if they pay attention to their surrounding.
*****
Clark continued to watch the monster, sawing the spike inside the room with its fang, and ate it to increase its size, right now the boss has already reached the size of 4 meters in total.
Watching carefully from the ceiling, Clark spotted Nagi near the boss—gasping for air, clearly exhausted.
Seeing this, he smiled.
Finally, after all this time, the fight was about to begin.
.....
Shrk, shreeek. Bam.
"What is that!?" Nagi said in a flare of fear, hearing noises that were not here before.
After being reborn, the boss has been sawing the earth spikes inside the room with its fang and eating them to grow in size.
As the boss monster prepared to saw another spike, she spotted Nagi in front of her, looking around in all directions.
Normally, the Trait [Friendly Meeting] of the heroes would make the boss monster not attack them on the spot unless they attack her first.
But with the influence of the corruption, this trait was meaningless to the boss right now.
The boss activated its armor shell on its head, creating a horn-like spike on it, ready to slam Nagi through the spike in the hope of being impaled.
It spread out its legs and tightened its muscles, with a clear sight of its target, in ran toward Nagi.
Using the spike as a ramp, it jumps right before Nagi's head, with its horn ready to impale him.
The moment the boss jumped to his head, Nagi crouched down tired from standing up all this time.
Looking up, he spotted the boss impaling his tame monster with its horn.
Ritsu, who was watching from above the pillars, was in shock; if Nagi had not crouched in the last second, it would be him being impaled by its horn instead of the tame monster.
The two eyes widen in shock. Without wasting any time Ritsu took a long gasp and screamed in his loudest:
"THE BOSS IS HERE!!!" Giving everyone else a warning.
.....
[Your tame monster has been killed]
The status panel appeared before Nagi's eyes as he rose from his feet and was ready to run away.
He didn't care about his monster right now. All that mattered was that he was still alive and could fight back for it's life.
The noise of the boss crashing into the spike can be heard from behind, yet Nagi did not look back and continued to run away.
Right now, he needed a proper footing, and this was not the best time for him.
Chapter 19 end.
