Meeting the Snake Family

Everyone stood frozen.

Tang San, finally in the limelight, was very pleased relishing their reactions.

He turned to look at Xiao Wu's expression, only for his smile to falter.

She was completely ignoring him, still focused on picking food for Wu Lan.

Meanwhile, hearing the commotion, Zhao Wuji, who had been quietly observing, finally stepped forward to stop things.

Tang San approached Xiao Wu, releasing his Martial Spirit as he asked,

"Xiao Wu, did you see how I defeated a Soul King?"

"What's there to be happy about? Lustful Tiger and Fat Chicken were bullying women, and you're helping them," Xiao Wu replied with disgust.

Zhu Zhuqing nodded, her expression equally cold.

Tang San turned stiffly to Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, whose faces had darkened in anger.

Meanwhile, Wu Lan fell into deep thought.

Tang San's Martial Spirit had clearly recovered. His Blue Silver Emperor bloodline had awakened and now possessed even more power than in the anime. His strength, agility, mental power, and soul power had all increased… and yet, there were no soul bones, no immortal grass.

After careful consideration, Wu Lan finally came to one conclusion:

The God Realm might be involved in this.

A protagonist is a protagonist. If he's weak, he gets an opportunity to rise.

But Asura, no matter how many times you give him power…

The final owner of your gifts will always be me.

He had stopped receiving rewards from Tang San due to constant squeezing.

So now, the God Asura had likely refilled Tang San… just so Wu Lan could squeeze him again.

How thoughtful. I should thank him.

Everyone returned to their rooms with their own thoughts.

The Next Morning

The group set off once more into the depths of Star Dou Forest.

Zhao Wuji walked in front and gave a reminder:

"The deeper we go, the more dangerous it becomes. Always be prepared."

Everyone nodded seriously except for Xiao Wu.

She skipped along happily beside Wu Lan, completely at ease, like she was strolling through her own backyard.

Zhao Wuji glanced at her carefree behavior but, seeing that she kept the formation, said nothing.

After some time, they stopped in a clearing to rest.

Suddenly, Wu Lan opened his eyes sharply. His gaze turned toward the dense forest ahead.

He had sensed the Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent, but said nothing.

A moment later, Zhao Wuji also sensed it.

He stood and instructed Zhu Zhuqing to climb up and scout.

Zhu Zhuqing obeyed and described the beast's features after surveying it.

Tang San was just about to show off his knowledge, but Wu Lan beat him to it.

"Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent. About 1,300 years old. Flexible. Fast," Wu Lan said calmly.

"Amazing!"

Everyone was stunned by Wu Lan's insight.

Xiao Wu looked proud. Zhu Zhuqing's eyes shimmered with admiration.

Tang San, seeing Xiao Wu's expression, darkened with jealousy. His gaze snapped toward Wu Lan, full of resentment.

Meanwhile, Wu Lan silently thanked Yu Xiaogang for the complete soul beast information.

After he got 'payment' from him, Wu Lan remembered Yu Xiaogang's hilarious expression whenever Tang San asked him about soul beasts.

He would pretend to be busy and tell Tang San to read books refusing to help directly.

Tang San was fooled every time.

Zhao Wuji, now excited, turned to Oscar.

"Oscar, you're in luck. This soul beast suits you perfectly."

Everyone prepared for battle.

Tang San was especially eager to prove himself in front of Xiao Wu.

As the Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent slithered into view, Tang San immediately rushed forward activating Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Purple Demon Eyes.

Seeing Tang San break formation, Zhao Wuji frowned but prepared to intervene if needed.

Tang San calculated the serpent's movements, dodged, then used his first soul skill to bind it.

The serpent struggled hard.

Zhao Wuji seized the chance and struck it down.

Once the beast collapsed, Tang San turned excitedly to Xiao Wu only to find her looking at him with a cold, indifferent gaze.

He froze, confused.

He had helped hunt the soul beast. Why was Xiao Wu displeased?

Wu Lan, watching from the side, almost laughed out loud.

Tang San will never guess why she's angry. And even if he did, he'd probably swear to only hunt 'evil' soul beasts from now on.

But somehow, every beast he finds will magically become evil…All so he can justify killing them.

Classic Protagonist Logic.

Zhao Wuji was furious at Tang San for acting alone, but said nothing because of Tang Hao.

"Oscar, get ready. Kill it."

Oscar stepped forward, eyes shining with excitement.

Just as he raised his hand…

"Stop."

A cold, haughty voice echoed across the clearing.

A young girl in green robes appeared, followed by an older woman with sharp, piercing eyes.

Wu Lan recognized them instantly:

Chao Tianxiang and Meng Yiran.

"I am Chao Tianxiang," the elder woman said, releasing her soul rings with arrogance.

Zhao Wuji narrowed his gaze.

"What's the matter?" he asked, releasing his own soul rings in return.

Upon seeing the seven soul rings around him, Chao Tianxiang's voice softened but she still carried a trace of arrogance.

"That Serpent. We saw it first."

Inspecting the wounds, they realized she was telling the truth.

While the conversation continued, Xiao Wu leaned close to Wu Lan.

"Brother, why are they so arrogant? They're clearly weaker than Teacher Zhao."

"That's because of her husband," Wu Lan said calmly. "He's a Contra."

Zhao Wuji pointed at Oscar.

"This is Oscar. He's level 30. This soul ring is suitable for him."

Chao Tianxiang's expression shifted slightly. After thinking for a moment, she said,

"Let's follow the rules of the soul master world Fight for the beast."

Zhao Wuji frowned slightly. "Oscar can't fight. He's a food-type soul master."

Wu Lan, meanwhile, was watching Tang San closely.

The protagonist looked like he had just been injected with chicken blood boiling with energy.

Chao Tianxiang was about to speak again, but Tang San suddenly stepped forward.

"Senior, I'm 12 years old and also at level 30. I will participate on his behalf for the soul beast."

He wanted to declare to the world:

I, Tang San, am a Genius. And I work harder than anyone.
