[S2] Chapter 1- Back From the Dead

Season 2 – Chapter 1: Back From the Dead

The sunlight glowed softly around the outdoor café, casting golden warmth on the cobbled pavement. Laughter, the clinking of coffee cups, the hum of life—it all blurred as Janet's heart nearly stopped in her chest.

There he was.

Asher.

Walking toward her.

His strides were calm, his eyes locked on hers, like nothing had ever happened. Like he wasn't supposed to be six feet under.

Janet stood frozen, her breath caught in her throat.

This wasn't possible.

He was dead.

She had seen it herself—Luca had shot him. There was blood. There was no heartbeat. It was over.

But now, here he was.

Alive.

Walking like a ghost through the world he no longer belonged to.

Asher wore a dark suit, tailored, clean, with the same chilling smirk that once made her stomach twist. But his eyes… they were colder than before. He looked sharper, deadlier, like someone who had been through the flames and come out more dangerous.

Janet's legs trembled as she stood up, staring at him. "You're… you're supposed to be—"

"Dead?" he interrupted smoothly. "I know. You looked so peaceful when I 'died.' Sorry to disappoint you, darling."

Her lips parted in shock.

At that exact moment, the café doors opened behind her.

Luca.

He stepped out holding two cups of coffee—and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw who stood in front of Janet.

His entire body went still.

The blood drained from his face.

"Asher…?" Luca's voice was raw, disbelieving. "No. That's impossible."

Asher turned to face him with slow satisfaction. "Hello, old friend. Missed me?"

Luca's hand gripped the table beside him. His voice turned cold. "I watched you die."

Asher tilted his head. "Clearly not hard enough."

Janet looked between the two men, fear creeping up her spine.

"You came back to finish what you started," she said quietly.

Asher's gaze drifted back to her, dark and possessive. "I came back… for you. And this time, I won't leave empty-handed."

Before either of them could react, Asher stepped forward slightly—his hand brushing the edge of the bench, far too close for comfort.

Luca slammed the coffees onto the table and stormed between them, shielding Janet.

"You even touch her, and I'll finish what I started."

Asher's eyes sparkled with cruel amusement. "Let's see if you can."

And with that, he turned and walked away—slow, confident, like a man who had no fear left.

Janet was shaking. Luca turned to her, placing both hands on her shoulders.

"Are you okay?" he whispered.

She nodded weakly. "How is he alive, Luca?"

Luca's jaw clenched. "I don't know. But this time… he's not walking away."

Janet looked down the path where Asher had vanished.

Somehow… her nightmare had risen from the grave.

And Season 2 had just begun.
