Chapter 4

Everyone's eyes were on me.

The auction house owner was so excited that he almost lost his balance, and it took him a while to speak, trembling.

"O-One billion!"

"Miss Su bids one billion!"

"Young Master Lu, what do you think?"

The owner asked excitedly.

Lu Siting's mouth twitched, and he glared at me, angry and humiliated.

"Su Qianxia, are you out of your damn mind? Do you know how much one billion is?"

He clenched his fist.

I smirked, looking at him mockingly.

"Oh! What's the matter, Young Master Lu? It's just one billion, why are you making such a big deal out of it?"

"Aren't you the one who'd do anything to make your dear Mei'er happy?"

Hearing my sarcasm, Lu Siting's face instantly flushed.

"Quit the fucking nonsense! Do you even have one billion? Can you come up with one billion?"

He stared at me with a dark gaze.

I knew he was losing his temper.

At first, he thought twelve billion was enough to seal the deal, but it had to be raised to fifty billion.

Later, he thought fifty billion could humiliate me, and show off in front of everyone, but now I raised the price to one billion.

Even a fool would know not to continue.

I smirked disdainfully at him: "Do you think I'd shout out a number in public without the money?"

"Who can guarantee that a woman like you, uncultured and malicious, wouldn't do something so shameless?"

Lu Siting sneered.

Ruan Mei'er chimed in: "Exactly, just because you say an amount doesn't make it real, right? If you can't pay up, how can we force you?"

I couldn't be bothered to argue with them.

"I'm willing to take legal responsibility for my actions. If I don't pay up, the owner has the right to hold me accountable."

"Satisfied now?"

I looked at Lu Siting.

At the moment, his face was dark, and his gaze was as if he wanted to eat me alive.

I knew he couldn't understand why I was so confident.

But I could guess.

If he knew that no matter how much I bid, it would ultimately be their family paying, his expression would be priceless!

Lu Siting's face was turning all sorts of colors, clearly furious with me.

I tapped the table and looked at Ruan Mei'er.

"Better hurry and ask your Brother Lu nicely, didn't you realize your little dog is howling with hunger?"

I smirked and asked her.

Her face turned crimson instantly.

Just now, she fed a billion-worth of ginseng to a dog as an act of showing off.

At that time, she did feel great, and insulting me felt great too.

But now?

Feed a dog with one billion? Does she dare?

"Brother Lu..."

Ruan Mei'er had no choice but to ask Lu Siting for help.

From the overbearing Lu Siting who just arrived, he now looked a bit embarrassed.

"How could Young Master Lu back down? We just praised you, you can't be so undependable, can you?"

"Yeah, didn't you look down on your fiancée? How can you let her walk all over you?"

"Come on, I bet he's just bluffing; the Lu Group's assets are over a trillion, but he doesn't have the guts to spend billions?"

Lu Siting's face was even more embarrassed.

The onlookers, of course, don't care as they comment.

The problem is, the Lu Group's assets may total a trillion, but having a liquidity of even a hundred billion is already a stretch!

"Su Qianxia! Are you trying to fight against me on purpose?"

Lu Siting suddenly accused me.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Could you at least use your brain when you speak?"

"I'm buying these herbs to treat someone's illness, whereas Ruan Mei'er intends to feed them to a dog. Who's really fighting whom here?"

I pursed my lips as I looked at him.

Such a foolish man; it's a good thing I didn't actually marry him!
