Chapter 4

Ye Chuan sneered, "Heartless? Do you not remember her clinging to me like a plaster, following me everywhere? Instead of worrying about our marital issues, you should be more concerned about your Sister Song."

His voice softened, "Wanwan is not like Shen Zhiyi. Shen Zhiyi grew up in a military compound, practicing martial arts since she was a child; she's very healthy. Wanwan has been weak since childhood, and now she's even pregnant..."

"What?" Ye Ling exclaimed, "How can you treat my sister-in-law like that?"

Ye Ling earnestly tried to persuade him to break up with Song Wanwan and take good care of me. But Ye Chuan didn't listen to a word.

He only left one sentence, telling her not to interfere.

Then he came in, heading straight to Song Wanwan's bed.

Seeing me, he just left a single sentence, "Take good care of your health."

Later, when there was a vacancy at the hospital, my attending physician immediately transferred me to a different ward.

Feeling guilty, Ye Ling continued to come every day to take care of me.

Half a month later, my health had improved significantly.

The TV station wanted to interview some disaster survivors in the hospital. Because a lot of resources were used, including the latest robot technology, to rescue me, they wanted to make me a typical example for a featured interview.

I was very grateful to the people who stayed with me in the rubble at the time, so I didn't refuse.

The night before the interview, Ye Chuan unexpectedly came to see me.

Ye Ling thought he had turned over a new leaf and made space for us on purpose.

But he came only to threaten me, telling me not to mention anything unfavorable about him.

It turned out that the hotel was designed by their unit, but there were construction errors, and the seismic standard hadn't been met.

Now, unfavorable public opinion was beginning to emerge against them, and he hoped I would say something nice to suppress the bad press.

On the day of the interview, he came early to my bedside, playing the role of a devoted husband.

The media personnel preparing for the interview had no idea what he had done and nodded at him repeatedly, even saying, "We heard that Mr. Ye was the first to stand up and direct the amateur rescue team to save Miss Shen when she was trapped under the rubble."

"Their relationship is truly enviable."

I looked up at Ye Chuan, only to see him lying without a blink, "Of course, she's my wife, after all."

Ye Chuan whispered, leaning close to my face, "As long as we get past the media, my superior will handle the rest."

"I've been in the design institute for a long time, and I'm about to be promoted. Don't blow our cover."

He said this while pretending to gently pinch my cheek:

"Didn't you complain about not taking wedding photos with me? Once this is over, we'll take wedding photos."

He spoke sweetly, but I clearly saw the flash of disdain in his eyes.

The microphones were set; the interview started. The room was crowded with media.

After a few questions, they finally began wrapping up.

"Did any scenes particularly stand out to you after the earthquake?"

I smiled at the camera, "Of course, there were. It was already night when I came to, and seeing the medical staff and rescuers who stayed by my side was very moving. It left a deep impression."

"And of course, that little robot that crawled to my side also left an impression. It felt very reassuring."

Having achieved the main purpose of the interview, the reporter nodded.

Then they turned their attention to Ye Chuan, who was standing silently behind me.

"We heard that Mr. Ye played a significant role in the rescue effort. Does Miss Shen have anything to say to Mr. Ye?"
