The Great Oni
Volume (1) Chapter (18)
Three months later, an Earthquake-Empire delegation arrived and, after paying a huge compensation, took the third prince back.
Under King Artha's warm-hearted leadership, together with Yeti's modern vision, the Kingdom of Aarunyuu became even more prosperous and vibrant.
Artha wished to expand territory further, but Yeti advised first perfecting the existing city—making foundations solid—before any enlargement.
After five years, with Artha and Yeti at the helm, Aarunyuu kept extending its lands and soon went to war with the Earthquake Empire.
In every battle Yeti's technologies gave them decisive victory.
Moreover, the people were happier in Aarunyuu and many supporters embraced the kingdom.
After twelve years Aarunyuu had seized half of the Earthquake Empire and annexed neighboring realms and empires, rising to full imperial status.
By then Renintha was past ten, and Yeti's System duty was complete.
Second son Victor was already ten as well, and Yeti was carrying a third child—this time a daughter.
Thirty years on, King Artha had conquered roughly half the world; his fame and authority blazed brilliantly.
The Earthquake Empire, the Sun Empire, and others were now only memories; the present age belonged to the Aarunyuu Empire.
After forty years Artha began expanding into the Asian continents, and by the fiftieth year he had taken about seventy percent of the entire globe.
Yeti had now spent fifty-two years in this world.
At present she was over sixty.
Once strikingly beautiful, she had become a frail grandmother, marked by time.
Yet the great river of time never ceased its flow.
Both of her sons were past fifty but still looked youthful, appearing scarcely thirty.
Her daughter, past forty, still appeared like a lovely twenty-year-old.
Yeti sensed she was afflicted with a cancer no medicine of the era could cure.
She now lay in bed, drawing her final breaths.
With faded, clouded eyes she gazed at Artha.
Artha, now in his seventies, had changed very little; if he went outside with the two sons, most would assume they were brothers.
Her thoughts wandered in and out, but she no longer had strength to speak.
Artha and their children looked at her with deep sorrow; the youngest daughter was weeping uncontrollably.
Artha merely held Yeti's hand and watched her with love.
Yeti summoned her last bit of strength and smiled.
