The Great Oni

Volume (1) Benoni Chapter (33)

At the same time, the leader's followers jumped in.

"Watch out," Arsham warned Li Fan.

Li Fan, without even turning his head, clenched the leader's fist so hard it squeezed tight.

"Crack!"

"Aaargh!" The pitiful leader's whole arm snapped, and he howled like a dog.

At that moment about eight followers were aiming at Li Fan's back, all attacking at once.

Suddenly invisible strikes flashed out; they were all hit simultaneously.

Instantly the jaws of all eight shattered, their teeth broke, and they fell unconscious.

What Li Fan had used was pure spiritual power.

"What the fuck!!!" Arsham's eyes bulged.

Before the other followers could even think, Li Fan's spiritual blow knocked them senseless.

The leader, terrified, looked at Li Fan and asked,

"You… you're one of those cultivators?"

Li Fan raised an eyebrow.

"So you even know about cultivators? Interesting."

A few minutes later, Jinwa—who had been knocked out by Arsham's punch—came to.

The moment he remembered being dropped by that "weakling" Arsham, shame turned to fury.

He stood, ready to fight Arsham again.

But the sight before him poured ice water on his rage.

Up front, Li Fan stood calmly, hands still in his pockets.

Beside him, Arsham—who had flattened him—was counting money.

Feeling his pocket, Jinwa discovered his own cash was gone.

Yet the worst shock: the badly-injured leader knelt on one knee, and behind him all forty-odd followers were kneeling, mouths bloody.

"Big bro, kneel fast or he'll bust your legs,"

Jinny—also kneeling—hissed at Jinwa.

Jinwa, trembling, knelt too.

Meanwhile Arsham finished counting and told Li Fan,

"Big brother, the total is 20,000 dollars."

Li Fan turned to the leader, expressionless.

"Huh. Claim you're some big crew, yet you're this poor? Fine—I'll visit your Devil-Envoy Crew myself. Give me your phone number."

"Y-yes, sir!" The leader hurriedly scribbled his number.

Arsham, tall, lean and handsome, looked at Li Fan with awe.

His half brother was like someone who'd stepped straight out of a novel.

Because Arsham was staring, Li Fan smiled while still eating ice cream.

"Arsham, have you ever heard of cultivators?"

Arsham shook his head blankly.

He had never even read xianxia novels; this was the first time hearing the term.

"What are cultivators?" he asked, full of curiosity.

"Well," Li Fan said between spoonfuls, "cultivators are people who train to transform into gods. High-level cultivators are literally god-like: they live millions of years and can punch the moon apart."

Arsham shivered.

If he had not just seen Li Fan fight, he would have thought Li Fan crazy.

But Li Fan's abilities had already surpassed human limits, like a real-life superhero.

"Then… if you fought Superman, who would win?" Arsham suddenly asked.

"That depends on the version," Li Fan answered lazily.

"Some Supermen I couldn't beat, but classic Superman? One punch and he's done."

"Whoa—then you're super strong! What stage are you now?"

"In cultivation terms I'm only at the second stage—really not that strong. Earlier I was only using leader-level strength. The reason I'm this strong is just my body."

Li Fan casually revealed.

"Oh." Arsham nodded, eyes shining.

Seeing Arsham hesitate to say something, Li Fan smiled.

"Arsham, want to become stronger?"

Without pause Arsham nodded hard.

"Good. When we get home, come to my room—I'll give you a gift."

Li Fan smiled mysteriously.

At 5 p.m. they left the park and, with all the relatives, returned to the villa.

Truth be told, the older folks just sat in restaurants, while the three youths roamed with their own friends.

By the time they got home it was already 6 p.m.

For almost all of these twenty days, Li Fan had chatted happily online each day with Yue Ar.

During that time Yue ar confided that she belonged to the Yue family, one of the six largest clans in the world.

She spoke of her family—she had four full brothers and was the youngest.

She also had many half-siblings: the thug Li Fan once helped was one such half-brother.

Over these twenty days Li Fan's relationship with her had only grown closer.

Today is May 30; tomorrow, June 1, will be Li Fan's fifteenth birthday.
