Depth Unknown – Final Passage of the Hollow
Sarah's boots hit solid stone as she and the team entered the final corridor. The air buzzed—hot, humming with a pressure that felt like thunder waiting to scream.
Zaki growled. His tail was stiff. His paws trembled—but he didn't retreat.
They had reached the Gate of the Scarab Engine.
Giant metallic doors, covered in interlocking glyphs, stood in front of them—sealed. Beyond them, somewhere, were Mike and Adam.
"I think this is it," Sarah whispered, breath short. "We're close."
Briggs stepped forward, running his hand along the surface.
"Feels like it's watching us."
Hossam was scanning the ground when something flickered in the corner of his vision.
"Wait—don't move."
Too late.
The ground beneath Aleksei cracked open.
Briggs reached for him—but a gust of sand and black smoke swallowed the Russian soldier whole.
"ALEKSEI!"
Then the wall pulsed—and another opening swallowed Briggs.
"NO!" Sarah screamed, lunging forward.
But the corridor was warping.
Turning in on itself.
The glyphs bled black.
Zaki barked wildly, spinning in circles, unsure where to go. Sarah grabbed onto a stone pillar as the lights died—and she was left completely alone.
Location: Surface – Egyptian Military Command Tent – 10:44 AM
Across every screen, a signal appeared.
Untraceable. Untranslatable.
But then the voice came.
Low. Deep. Layered.
Not one voice—a choir of ancient gods speaking as one.
"You built your weapons like toys.
You aimed them into the sky.
You called yourselves kings.
And forgot the gods you buried beneath your feet."
The message played simultaneously in Cairo, Washington, Moscow, Beijing, Paris.
Phones. Radios. TVs. Military satellites.
No encryption.
"You've disturbed the Scarab.
You've awakened the Hollow.
And now—
You will fight for your arrogance."
On the screen: the pyramids glowed red at their tips.
The sand cracked like glass.
"Bring your tanks.
Bring your planes.
Bring your gods of metal and steel.
We will meet you in the shadow of the pyramids."
"We allow you this…
To witness what cannot die."
Then the image changed.
Twelve black figures stood in formation.
Towering. Robed. Masked.
The Immortal Priests.
They didn't speak.
They didn't move.
But somehow… they waited.
Location: Hollow – Lost Chamber
Sarah lay on the stone floor, coughing, flashlight shattered.
The silence around her wasn't empty—it was aware.
Zaki whined beside her, nudging her side. He'd found her again. Loyal.
She sat up, trembling.
No team. No light.
But she was still alive.
And the battle… had just been declared.
