Peeko’s Promise – Flame of Care (Filler Story)

The training ring was still glowing with the lingering mist of Luna's final combo. Ice shards melted slowly into the grass, and the ground steamed under the crackling hum of residual energy.

Peeko, who had been watching silently from the stone ledge, fluttered up slowly, his wings catching the silver moonlight.

He floated toward Jimmy and said softly,

"Tatat… I'll practice too."

Jimmy raised a brow. "Alright. Then start by helping."

He glanced toward Luna, who was catching her breath, her paws flickering with static.

"Use Blue Flame—low intensity. Heal her."

Peeko nodded, lifted his little wings, and summoned a ring of soft blue fire, letting it encircle Luna like a warm scarf.

He whispered, "Dumtadum…" as the flames spiralled gently around her.

Luna blinked, standing still as her wounds slowly mended under the soft heat.

"It's working," she said, eyes half-closed, "but… slower than your spell."

Hearing this, Peeko frowned slightly — then pumped more focus into the flame. The blue light glowed brighter. The air around them warmed just a little more.

Jimmy stepped closer.

"It's okay, Peeko. Don't rush. Healing isn't about speed."

Peeko looked up and gave a soft, understanding chirp.

"Tatat…"

Then, after a pause…

"Want to eat."

Before Jimmy could move, Bruno stomped in proudly, balancing two glowing bottles of Fire Potions on his thick stone back. He tilted forward carefully, letting them roll down to Jimmy.

Luna took one look, snatched them up with her teeth, and gulped them both down in one motion.

She let out a sharp exhale — steam flying from her nostrils.

"Ahhh… that's the good stuff."

Still panting slightly, she looked at Peeko and asked with a grin,

"Any more?"

Jimmy opened a side pack and spread out everything: Flame Jerky, Charcoal Mushrooms, Roasted Aag Peppers, and a bottle of Liquid Ember.

Peeko stared at it with sparkling eyes. Bruno, though rock-type, tilted his head in intrigue.

Just as they began to eat—

Jimmy's phone buzzed.

He checked the screen. It was the store manager from the medical shop.

"Your order just arrived. Shall we deliver?"

Jimmy tapped back.

"Yes. Deliver now. Also do you have that what I requested? If you get that deliver it also. Arrival time."

A reply came within seconds.

"It's 8:00 sharp, sir."

Jimmy looked up from his phone.

The garden was glowing gently with blue firelight. Luna and Peeko were sharing food, laughter flickering in their eyes. Bruno watched over them like a quiet guardian.

A gentle breeze swept through.

Jimmy smiled faintly. For now… things felt right.

.......................

Just as the wind shifted and the moonlight deepened over the field, Jimmy heard the soft hum of wheels on gravel.

A sleek black vehicle pulled up near the edge of the estate. It bore no emblems, only a shimmering glass crest on the windshield — the mark of discreet priority delivery.

The driver stepped out without a word and wheeled forward a compact container locked inside a shock-absorbing case. Steam hissed slightly as it opened, revealing the faint glow of containment seals. There were 2 bottles for water and fire portions, Rank - S and one A rank portion for each ice and electric portion.

At its centre: an advanced incubator unit with some hi-tech machine, sleek and reinforced with temperature and resonance regulators. Cooling tubes wrapped around it like serpentine veins. Its glass dome glowed faint blue — pulsing like a heartbeat.

Jimmy thought 'Money rotates everyone.'

He paid the money and put it all inside the room. Jimmy walked slowly and carefully placed on floors.

He saw a handwritten note was taped beside it.

"If there's even a sliver of life, this model will amplify it. Instructions enclosed. No guarantees — but perhaps… ."

Peeko and Luna came there to see. Peeko asked "dumta dumta tata dum dum .... what is this, food?" jimmy quickly took out that a S rank fire portion and feed him slowly. she asked 'tatata... want more?' Jimmy said 'tomorrow morning'.

Jimmy mix the water with it and feed him. He laid down on floor and slept. Jimmy call back him.

Then with a curious gaze of Luna, Jimmy tapped a code on the touchscreen.

The side panel unlocked with a hiss — and inside, cushioned delicately under the stabilizer foam.

Jimmy placed that egg inside it carefully and closed that door.

That incubator closed the door and started to scan.

The tech displayed a flickering pulse. Faint. Faint… but present.

...................................................

Luna asked "ononnnonnnn...." Jimmy said 'don't worry. It is that pet whom we brought from that place.' Luna nods in understand.

Jimmy stared at the words for a long moment.

He sat down and touched the incubator gently.

Then, he locked the doors; closed the windows; and lowered the lights.

..............................................

The blue glow from the incubator had dimmed into a stable pulse — steady, rhythmic, nearly imperceptible.

Jimmy kneeled beside it, breath calm, fingers steady. With practiced precision, he slid the entire unit into the hidden compartment beneath Bruno's reinforced back, locking it into place behind a shielded mineral shell. The containment seals adjusted automatically.

Bruno's body flickered — then vanished into invisibility, just as Luna walked to the far corner of the room and lay down silently, her eyes watching everything.

Jimmy came outside and sat on the outside veranda, with Luna. After 1 Hour, when both of them felt asleep on each other. They wakes up by cars sound.

Luna said "ononnnn... what happened jimmy?" Jimmy said "again headache. Let's welcome them."

And right then —

The doorbell rang.

Standing outside was the same Arcana woman, cloaked in a deep grey coat, her ghost Whisp floating silently beside her.

But this time, she wasn't alone.

Behind her stood two Arcana officers, a stern-faced school headmaster, and a familiar, authoritative presence:

Mr. Ashlan, recently arrived from Kirim City.

The Arcana woman held up a document, crisp and official.

"Search warrant. Emergency override code 81-E. You're required to comply."

Jimmy took the paper, scanned it slowly under the porch light.

"Fine. You may enter."

Luna remained beside jimmy, tail flicking lazily, eyes glowing in the dim.

...............................

They entered methodically. The officers scanned.

The woman watched Jimmy closely — as if trying to see beyond what even machines could.

Ashlan gave sharp orders.

The headmaster said nothing, only sneered whenever Jimmy passed.

Still, they found nothing.

No suspicious object.

No traces of forbidden energy.

Everything clean. Perfect.

After nearly twenty minutes of silent inspection, the Arcana woman lowered her scanner.

"Apologies for disturbing you at night."

Jimmy's voice was sharp but even.

"So? Is the suspicion over now? Or just… paused?"

She hesitated.

"For now… it's over. We won't come again."

Jimmy smiled.

"Gute Nacht"

He turned his back without waiting.

The others filed out slowly, one by one — faces unreadable.

The principal's lips tightened."I want to see you in my office tomorrow. Sharp 10."

.....................................

Jimmy stepped outside after they'd gone.

The moon hung low.

Outside of his property, the Arcana woman talking with principal — whispering something on a comm device.

Jimmy approached silently.

He heard her say:

"His career might be affected by this. He has good reach. The wrong eyes will notice."

Jimmy's voice came behind her like frost.

"Well then… I'll see you around, Ms. Ilaria Rayne."

He walked away and locked the gate with a soft click.

The woman and that man turned just as the bolts echoed through the silence.

She stared at the sealed gate.

Then smiled to herself.

"What a great sense… even they can't see through me. But he sees through... ."

She glanced at her ghost Whisp.

"But you... you saw it, didn't you?"

The ghost bobbed.

She turned away, coat flowing behind her.

"Interesting… He is interesting."

...................................

Jimmy stepped back into his room, locking the door behind him.

The house was still, but his instincts weren't. Something felt off. Cold in the corners. Warm near his Codex shelf.

He touched two fingers to the wall — then closed his eyes and reached inward.

The Mind's Garden.

Inside, the serene mental realm was trembling — heat rising unnaturally through the air. Flames licked across the inner branches. Jimmy's expression hardened.

Even his Mind's Garden was reacting.

He glanced toward the invisible shimmer across the room.

"Bruno. Begin a scan. Silent mode."

There was no reply — but the faintest distortion of air passed by him. Bruno was already working.

A moment later, Luna entered the room quietly, eyes alert.

She raised her head and sent out a ripple — Electromagnetic Wave — fine-tuned to catch any foreign resonance.

Nothing at first.

But Jimmy narrowed his eyes. He pulled out his handheld tuner and cranked the search to high-frequency micro-layer of Bruno.

There.

A whisper-thin pulse near the skirting of the wall — buried, cloaked, and nearly invisible.

He leaned down, placed two fingers over it.

"So this is what they left behind..."

Carefully, he triggered a burn-seal disruptor and melted it down, pixel by pixel, until it fizzled into smoke.

Only then did he allow himself to exhale.
