Tiwaz: The rune that shouldn't exist

Veyr

"SYLAS!" Veyr's voice cracked through the rising tension. He rushed toward Sylas and grabbed him by the collar. "You said you could handle it and let him train! Look at what happened to him!" he screamed, tightening his grip around Sylas's neck.

Sylas didn't move; his eyes remained fixed on the arena floor.

"Veyr, not now," one of the elites said.

"No," Veyr snapped. "He knew this would happen, yet he let him fight! What kind of mate are you?" he yelled.

"This shouldn't be happening" Those were Veyr's thoughts as he watched the scene unfold. He had tried so hard not to care and had thought Ryn would give up and end the fight. But he was shocked when Ryn didn't.

This reminded him of someone he'd been close to. Someone who, just like Ryn, had refused to yield in battle and ended up dead.

"Look, something's happening!" a voice rang out in the arena, and Veyr turned, letting go of Sylas.
