Chapter 4 : Itachi Suspected!!

Uchiha Shisui was the strongest in the Uchiha clan and had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.

His death was a huge blow to the Uchiha clan, who were planning a coup.

"Damn it, how did Shisui really die? His will can't be trusted at all!"

"Isn't it obvious? Only three people missed last night's meeting — Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Shisui, and the siblings of Uchiha Raizen. The biggest suspect is definitely Itachi!"

"Shh, be quiet. Itachi is the eldest son of the clan leader's."

In the Police Force building's hall, the Uchiha clan members gathered with anger on their faces.

They were suspicious about Shisui's death.

Many suspected Itachi, but because of his status, no one dared to say it openly.

Only Uchiha Tetsuhi didn't care and said angrily:

"I don't care about his status. Haven't you noticed? Since Itachi joined the Anbu, his behavior has become more and more strange. No one can tell what he's thinking! I have good reason to believe he secretly sided with the village leaders and betrayed the Uchiha clan!"

These words seemed to hit a nerve. The hall suddenly fell silent.

"No way, Itachi is not that kind of person!" a voice shouted back loudly. It was Uchiha Izumi.

"Izumi, I know Itachi saved you before, but do you really understand him now? Do you know what Itachi is thinking?" Tetsuhi asked sharply.

Uchiha Izumi suddenly had no words to reply.

When she was little, she had met Itachi a few times and even ate dango with him.

But as they grew up, Itachi became more and more lonely, and the distance between them grew wider. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't catch up to him.

"Enough, all of you shut up!" Uchiha Yashiro interrupted their argument.

As an elite Jonin and a veteran of the Police Force, even Uchiha Fugaku admired his leadership.

His cold and strict gaze swept over everyone, then he decided:

"Since everyone has doubts, I will go and ask Itachi for an explanation as a representative. Tetsuhi, Inaho, you two come with me."

The Uchiha clan was truly the strongest clan in the ninja world. Yashiro, Tetsuhi, and Inaho were all Jonin.

Three Jonin going to question Uchiha Itachi made a powerful scene.

Uchiha Izumi opened her mouth, but in the end, she just closed it sadly.

Because she knew she couldn't stop them. This wasn't just Tetsuhi's opinion but the opinion of most clan members.

What could she change?

She could only hope quietly in her heart that Itachi was alright.

As for whether she believed Itachi was not the one who killed Shisui, she was one hundred percent sure.

Itachi would never do anything to harm his own people and clan!

At the entrance of the Police Force.

The three Uchiha ran into Uchiha Raizen, who was just walking in.

One of them asked:

"Raizen, why didn't you and your sister go to the shrine meeting last night?"

Uchiha Raizen calmly replied:

"Sorry, Lord Yashiro. Yesterday was my day off, and I accidentally overslept. As for my sister, she was out on a mission and hasn't been in the village for several days."

Hearing this, Lord Yashiro scolded him:

"Don't skip the shrine meetings again."

After saying that, he left with Tetsuhi and Inaho.

None of the three suspected Uchiha Raizen at all.

Because in the Uchiha clan, known for its many geniuses, Raizen's talent was not outstanding.

At sixteen, his Sharingan had only developed to two tomoe, and he had never even taken the Chunin exam.

If someone said Raizen could kill Shisui, the strongest in the clan, they wouldn't believe it at all.

Looking at the backs of Uchiha Yashiro and the other two, a strong sense of urgency rose in Uchiha Raizen's heart.

Before he had obtained the Azure Dragon Cursed Seal, all his energy had been focused on scientific research. He hadn't given much thought to the future of the Uchiha clan.

All he wanted was to protect himself—and protect his sister.

But now, everything was different. He had successfully combined the power of a Devil Fruit with a cursed seal.

That meant even ninjas could now wield the power of Devil Fruits.

Through this technology, he could potentially raise the overall strength of the Uchiha clan to a whole new level.

Maybe... maybe it could even change their fate—maybe it could prevent the clan's destruction two years from now.

But that would only be possible if the clan poured all its financial resources into him.

After all, Devil Fruits weren't cheap.

A single Mythical Zoan-type Azure Dragon Fruit cost ninety million ryō. Even the most basic standard Zoan-type would still go for over ten million ryō.

So how could he gather all the Uchiha clan's resources?

Uchiha Raizen couldn't think of a good way—unless he became the clan head himself.

But becoming the clan head... that was nearly impossible right now. Most of the Uchiha didn't even see him as someone important.

Forget it.

What mattered most right now was getting familiar with the Azure Dragon Cursed Seal and increasing his own strength.

Without strength, any ambition is nothing but a delusion.

Uchiha Raizen took his position and glanced at Uchiha Izumi, who wore a worried expression. He didn't go over to talk to her or offer any comfort.

As someone who had transmigrated into this world, he knew all too well—on the night of the Nine-Tails' attack, Izumi had been saved by Itachi. She had liked him since they were kids, and her trust in him ran deep. It was practically unshakable.

In the original story, even when she was killed by the masked man, Obito, the only thing on her mind was whether Itachi would come to save her again.

What a cruel and bitter irony that was.

Raizen shook his head.

As for his own opinion of Itachi?

It was extremely negative, to say the least.

In the five years since arriving in this world, he'd lost count of how many nights he had been haunted by nightmares—dreams of him and his sister being cut down by Itachi's blade.

If he could still hold any affection for Itachi after all that, then he might as well build a temple and worship himself as a saint.

Shaking off those thoughts, Raizen turned his focus inward, silently working on developing the power of the Azure Dragon Curse Mark within his body.

As his physique grew significantly stronger, he could also feel his chakra refining at a much faster rate.

After all, the essence of chakra is the fusion of physical and spiritual energy.

Alongside training with the Curse Mark, Raizen also began studying several useful jutsu he hadn't had time to practice before—like the Shadow Clone Technique.

To his surprise, when he attempted the B-rank Shadow Clone Technique while in his cursed state, he succeeded instantly.

Not a single obstacle stood in his way.
