"Food's here!" Lyra announced, shoving her phone back into her pocket with a forced cheerfulness that caught my attention.
I glanced at Rhys, whose usually bright face had clouded over. "What is it?" I asked, knowing something was wrong.
He hesitated, exchanging a look with the others before answering. "Just... maybe we should eat in your suite instead of going to the dining hall?"
"Why?" The protective determination in his voice raised my guard instantly.
"The rumor mill is working overtime," he admitted, scratching the back of his neck. "About you, the baby... everything."
Jaxon snorted. "When is it not? Bunch of bored assholes with nothing better to do."
"I'm not hiding," I said firmly, straightening my shoulders. "I've got nothing to be ashamed of."
