I stumbled back, liquid splashing onto the front of my shirt as I collided with a solid form. The coffee seeping through my clothes was warm but not scalding, thank goodness. Still, I couldn't help but gasp as I looked up to see who I'd crashed into.
"Oh shit, I'm so sorry," I blurted out, my eyes meeting the surprised gaze of Silas Lawson.
His hands had instinctively moved to steady me, and the moment our skin connected, something electric shot through me. His eyes widened in shock, pupils dilating instantly. The sensation was familiar now - that same strange pull I'd felt with Rhys, though somehow unique to Silas.
"You..." Silas whispered, his voice thick with wonder. His hands remained on my shoulders, fingers tightening slightly.
Before I could respond, Rhys was suddenly between us, his body language protective as he gently but firmly moved me back.
"You felt it, didn't you?" Rhys asked Silas, his tone carefully measured but with an undercurrent of tension.
