Kaelen's fingers were intertwined with mine as we climbed the stairs to our room at the bed and breakfast. His thumb traced small circles on my skin, each touch sending tingles up my arm. I couldn't believe this was the same man who'd kept me at arm's length for so long.
"You okay?" he asked, glancing down at me with those piercing blue eyes.
"Just trying to process this sudden change," I admitted. "Yesterday you could barely look at me. Now you're holding my hand like you'll never let go."
A shadow crossed his face. "I won't be letting go again."
The sincerity in his voice made my heart skip. We reached the landing, and he guided me down the hall to a door at the end.
"This is your room?" I asked.
"Our room," he corrected, producing a key. "I had your things moved from Willow's room while we were at your mother's."
