"Well, well, well," Willow said, her eyebrows dancing suggestively as she pushed past me into the hotel room. "I knew things were intense between you two, but damn, Hazel."
I felt my cheeks flush as I closed the door behind her. Kaelen, to his credit, didn't seem embarrassed at all by being caught half-naked. He simply nodded politely at Willow before disappearing back into the bathroom.
"Could you at least pretend to be surprised?" I hissed at Willow, tucking my hair behind my ears nervously.
She plopped down on the edge of the unmade bed, grinning from ear to ear. "About you and Mr. Delicious in there? Please. The sexual tension between you two has been off the charts since day one."
"It's more complicated than that," I muttered, sitting beside her.
"Oh, I know. The whole multiple soulmates thing is wild." Her voice softened as she nudged my shoulder with hers. "But you seem happy. Underneath all the chaos, I mean."
I couldn't help but smile. "I am. When I'm not terrified."
