Dark Lord's POV:
"And that's checkmate boys!" she uttered, as she equipped a white mask, while her body began to wither into a teenaged version of the form she had taken back when she left the Dark Palace.
"WHAT IS THIS! HOW ARE YOU CONTROLLING THE ISLAND'S DEFENSE SYSTEM?!" Gladstone shouted.
"Oh, it's much worse than that!"
And with her words there was a sudden shift in the ground below us.
"It took a while to fully register, but as of this moment the flying island of Walpurgis is my property! And any trespassers will be shot on sight!"
"WHAT?! That's not possible, unless-!"
"Oh! Seems like Longbeard figured it out! Well, it doesn't matter. *Squelch*"
*Swish*
*Smash*
Just then, Gladstone used his mythical grade battleaxe to break open the barrier and split Nox in half once more. Only for her to immediately pull herself back together again.
"Sorry grandpa Longbeard, but it's going to take more than that to kill me! Especially now!"
As she uttered those words, an array of spell circles appeared orbiting around her as she floated into the air as a multitude of enchantments spanning across the island became visible on the ground below.
"NO! STOP!" Gladstone screamed as he frantically swung his battleaxe, launching a flurry of spatial slashes towards her, only to be blocked by several layers of spatial jamming barriers.
She seemed to have ascertained that the mythical battleaxe used the spatial element to launch a high-powered slash by overlapping the spaces in front of it. Hence, she had used the same trick Gladstone had used to stop her from teleporting to block his attacks. A single spatial jamming barrier was obviously not enough to stop the attacks, but with each layer the slashes grew more unstable, shortening their range until they eventually reached their limits long before reaching her.
"HAHAHAHA!"
Seeing how she even threw a sage into a panic, I couldn't help but laugh. The thought of one of the world's foremost experts being helpless before my woman, it excited me to no end. She is truly worthy of being the consort of a man such as I. If only she was a little older, I wouldn't have to hold myself back.
"STOP LAUGHING YOU LUNATIC AND HELP ME! IF HE SUCCEEDS, HE'LL HAVE FULL CONTROL OF THE ISLAND!"
"HAHAHA! *sigh* Okay then! Playtime is over!" I said before I released my aura to destroy the barrier I was in.
But just as I was about to chase after the cheeky little girl looking down on us, the orbiting magic circles had fused into two multicolored circles. Soon after, the circles compressed into two rainbow-colored needles before stabbing into her shoulder blades.
I used my qi to shatter all her various types of protective and magic jamming barriers as I flew towards my beloved. By the time I had arrived in front of the little minx, the needles in her back had already grown into large skeletal rainbow wings that distorted the space around her.
"Caught you! Ugh!
The moment I was about to wrap my arms around the little fairy to end our little game, I was shocked. She had suddenly grasped my windpipe, crushed it, then kicked my body back into the VIP spectators' seat, displaying an incredulous amount of strength unlike any she had shown before.
"Whoa, she looks pissed! Does Longbeard owe her money or something?" He said while holding a recording crystal up towards Nox who had turned to look at Gladstone.
"*cough* *cough*!"
I was shocked. She always possessed superhuman strength, but she was never this powerful. Back when we first met, she would at best be able to match me back when I was in the golden core stage, but upon advancing to nascent soul my power has grown exponentially. Even with her core fixed, she shouldn't be capable of brushing me aside the way she did.
As I was recovering from my throat being crushed, the sage had grabbed on to the rude guy that Nox was protecting.
"RELINQUISH YOUR CONTROL OF THE ISLAND OR THE CHILD DIES!" He shouted as he held his battleaxe to the guy's throat.
"Oh boy! He shouldn't have done that!" My brother-in-law said, as he suddenly made a nervus expression.
"What do you mean?" I asked him while looking for an opening to strike.
"Boss! When dealing with my sis there are 3 things you should never do! And Longbeard just broke one of those taboos!"
Just then the island began to shake and rumble as Nox's shadow spread across the arena floor.
"You should never, ever take a hostage!"
And just as the jester uttered those words, the head of a large reptile made from pure darkness manifested around them, swallowing both the sage and the hostage whole. It then flew out of the ground and into the sky. However, …
*Swish*
The winged lizard's head was cut off its neck as a bearded armor set emerged alone from its now plummeting carcass.
"HOW CRUEL! WAS HE NOT YOUR COMPANION?!"
"Old man! If you survive today, then remember one thing! Hostages only piss me off!"
And with that another lizard with nine heads emerged from the shadows below. Each head sporting a different pair of colored lights in place of eyes.
"CRAP SHE BROUGHT OUT THE HYDRA! BOSS WE GOT TO GO! NOW!"
"Why are you suddenly so panicked! And what is a hydra?"
Before he could answer my questions, the lizards opened their mouths and released nine different types of breath attacks, that lit up the sky while parting the clouds. By the time it was over Gladstone was nowhere to be found.
"Did he run away?"
"That thing is a mythical beast! If he didn't run, then he's dead! Just like we are if she catches us now! SO, LET'S GO!"
"So, she can even command mythical beasts! Haha! HAHAHAHA!!"
I started laughing in joy as my brother-in-law tried to pull me away. I watched as my, already appealing fiancée became even more radiant bye the second. I prepared myself for another playdate with my Noxy as I brandished my aura, but…
"Huh?"
Before I knew it our surroundings had changed as I suddenly found myself in an unfamiliar mansion alongside the jester.
"Where are we?" My brother-in-law asked
"It would seem like my Noxy is feeling shy and pushed us away again! How cute! But this time it won't be that easy!"
*Clang*
Just as I moved to reopen the quickly fading spatial distortion I could feel something hard hit my head from behind. I turned my head to look, while I could feel a drop of blood run down the back of my head. Behind me was a middle-aged man wielding an enchanted blue spear which he had attempted to pierce my skull with.
"HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE BEFORE ME AGAIN YOU MAD BASTARD!! NOW RETURN THA-!"
*Swish*
*Splatter*
In no mood to listen to his ranting I cut off his arm wielding the spear before turning back to the spatial distortion, but…
*Pop*
It seems I was too late as Nox had sped up the prosses from her end while I was distracted causing the distortion to completely fade away, preventing me from jumping back immediately.
"Phew! Good thing she let us off the hook! Right boss! Eh, boss?"
I was infuriated. This was the second time she slipped out of my grasp, and it was all because of the plebian screaming in pain behind me.
"I will make you regret the day you were born!" I said, as my aura burst out of me, destroying even the ground below my feet, as I walked through the air towards the crying one-armed man.
