Chapter 104: Side Project

Nox's POV:

*sigh*

I am currently lying down in a grassy field enjoying the nice summer breeze while reading a book I had permanently borrowed from the academy library. It has been almost a year since I first arrived on this continent, but I have yet to fully look into the local geopolitical climate, which is what I was doing now. The book I had borrowed forever is on the subject of the Dark Lords territory as well as its enemies. I'd hoped my Crybaby would convince his boss to settle his debt peacefully, but after a month of nothing happening, I assume it didn't work. Hence, why I am currently looking into who and what my next move should be.

*BOOM*

Just then, as I was in the middle of my homework, I could hear my side project exploding behind me.

With the kids out of the house, and having nothing better to do, I decided to get to work on an experiment I have been putting on hold for quite some time now. It required a crap ton of magic stones which is why I had put it off for over a year, but with the wealth of loot I found hidden away inside my new island ship, I finally had enough to attempt it, or that's what I thought anyways.

*BOOM*

"It seems like it needs more Earth element, while I'll need to redirect the spatial element over there!" I muttered to myself as I looked at the array of enchantments and spell circles surrounding the nine puddles of different colored liquids.

I thought I could just use my spirit core to brute force the idea, but it wasn't strong enough. So, I have been going back to basics using regular spells and enchantments instead. However…

*BANG*

What I am trying to do is rather complicated, not to mention dangerous. My pet project is very delicate, and it keeps destabilizing while damaging the enchantments which waists more resources every time I have to fix it. At this rate I might actually have to gather more stuff as the mountain of magic stones I started with has been reduced to half its original size. That said if I can stabilize this thing and get it working then all my future money problems will disappear. Though, if it doesn't work there is a real good chance for everything within a 2-mile radius to be obliterated.

"There, got it! That should last for at least another week! Meanwhile I should get started on my other, other side project." I said as I turned to look at the big cylindrical containers.
