Chapter 77: Endless Mountain Range

Towering mountain ranges pierced the sky, blanketed in endless white snow.

This was near the extreme north, far from the south, surrounded by desert. The Endless Mountains stood proudly — the Federation gave them a grand name: the Endless Mountain Range.

The ground was cracked and dry, with barely a blade of grass. Even trees were rare sights here. There were no plains, only one mountain after another, stretching endlessly. Standing atop one peak, you could see countless ranges layered all the way to the horizon. Only a few dead trees stood scattered, and the cold desert winds whipped through the dried yellow grass, filling the air with desolation.

Suddenly, several mechas swept across the sky, stirring up a sharp gust that bent the grasses in their direction. If you looked closely, you'd see two large red characters etched into the backs of the mechas:

Blood God!

Yes, Blood God — not Snow God.

Following the mechas' view, past layers of jagged terrain, a massive modern military complex came into sight, nestled in the center of several mountain peaks. If you observed carefully, you'd notice the base's foundation had been artificially flattened — an unbelievable feat.

No one would have guessed that in such a desolate, lifeless place, a secret army was stationed.

Even Federation satellites, official maps, and every searchable public record held no trace of it. It was as if this unit had materialized from thin air, slipping between reality and illusion.

The mechas landed at their designated drop point, their cockpits opening as several figures stepped out.

"Welcome," said Blood Two calmly. Even though these visitors came on behalf of the Federation, they still warranted respect. Though the Blood God Army technically stood outside the Federation military's formal chain of command — holding enormous autonomy and even at times defying orders — appearances mattered. Besides, Blood Two himself was born of the Federation, his older brother the current head of the War God Hall and a deputy federal senator. His upbringing and education had always instilled in him a deep sense of duty to his country.

Now, as the Blood God Army's Blood Two, with soul power reaching Rank 97, at Super Douluo level, and as a Three-Word Battle Armor Master — all signs of his strength and qualifications — he could proudly say he had fulfilled that duty.

"Sir, please lead the way," said Luo Xing respectfully. He turned back to his team, adding, "You stay here and stand guard. Once this is done, we'll leave immediately."

Blood Two said nothing, simply turning to lead Luo Xing into the army's interior.

Around them, the sounds of soldiers training echoed. Towering mechas stood like steel giants, alongside combat aircraft and various eighth- and ninth-level soul devices.

Even though Luo Xing had seen many formidable sights in his life, he couldn't help but inwardly marvel: this army was too powerful. But he dared not dwell on it; such federal secrets he was allowed to deliver, but not to know. Not even a glance too many was permitted. All he knew was — this force was carrying out a grand and vital mission.

"Vice Commander Tianwu, the guest is here," Blood Two reported, before quietly leaving.

Luo Xing paused briefly, then stepped through the door. Inside was a middle-aged man in a pristine military uniform, medals of honor adorning his left chest and shoulder.

Major General.

"Speak, what's the matter?" Long Tianwu asked softly.

"General, this is a gift from the Federation. Please, the army is to accept it. Moreover, know that the people of the Douluo Continent, the Sun Moon Federation, and every Sun Moon citizen will never forget your contributions. What you are doing now is of the highest honor!"

Luo Xing saluted crisply, placing a small data disc on the desk.

No matter the occasion, a general wearing such a high rank deserved respect. In the Sun Moon Federation, military rank appointments were extraordinarily strict; without immense merit, one would never be chosen.

At that moment, Long Tianwu closed his eyes, memories flooding back — everything before he had joined the Blood God Army. His heart stirred with unspoken emotions.

Hearing these words, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and passion. The Federation hadn't forgotten them. The people of Douluo hadn't forgotten the sacrifices they had made.

"Thank you. We will accept this gift. But when you leave, we'll swap out a few yellow-grade mechas for you — the 'Blood God' markings on the Federation models are a little too conspicuous," Long Tianwu said with a faint smile.

"General, before that, I must relay the Federation's official message:

The Blood God Army, hidden for 6,300 years, should have long enjoyed its rightful honors — but because of the word 'guardianship,' you had to set them aside.

We remember you always. And now, I solemnly bring you this major announcement:

The Blood God Army may step into the light!

But all you bear must still remain strictly classified — no leaks allowed!"

Luo Xing's words stunned Long Tianwu.

The Blood God Army could finally emerge?

He abruptly shot to his feet, his eyes filled with emotion.

Even if their deeds would never be fully known, even if the world only saw the rise of a new, powerful army under the name 'Blood God,' even just stepping into the public eye was enough to thrill him for a lifetime.

After all, he had spent his life fighting the Abyss Plane.

As for concerns about foreign powers investigating the army's great deeds or exposing their secrets? Long Tianwu was unfazed.

The army had its own methods.

The Federation had its own methods.

They could keep it hidden.

"So, the mechas with 'Blood God' markings won't need to be swapped, right? No need to trouble the army," Luo Xing added awkwardly.

"Mhm. Go back then. The army is grateful for this gift," Long Tianwu said, his eyes curiously examining the data disc.

This was the Federation's gift?

Who listened to music during war, anyway?

Still, the Sun Moon Federation surely had its own reasons.

The Blood God Army, after all, nominally belonged to the Federation government — that had been true since its founding a millennium ago. Their vast power was only because of the massive weight they bore. Without such responsibility, they might have been just another small army on the outside.

Now that the Federation had officially declared they could emerge, it meant that this army, hidden for more than six thousand years, would finally appear in the eyes of the Douluo people — for the first time formally recognized as a Federation force.

Before Luo Xing left, he gave one final instruction:

This piece of music must be broadcast to every soldier, and every last one must hear it.

"What? We can step into the light?!" Zhang Huanyun could hardly believe it.

He had known the Federation was sending someone over — he'd assumed it was for inquiries or reports. But it turned out to be a gift — and the announcement that they could step out of the shadows.

He knew all too well that if even a sliver of the Blood God Army's deeds were exposed, the resulting societal panic would be incalculable.

But thinking further, he realized:

If they had the military strength to keep it secret, why not?

Within a thousand li of the Endless Mountains, satellite scans, combat aircraft, and mechas maintained full-time surveillance. Add two Title Douluo-level experts conducting round-the-clock sweeps — it wasn't like secrecy was impossible.

And since the Federation itself had spoken, they surely had their own methods.
