Chapter 131: Dou Zong—Such Terrifying Power!

"I possess an eye through which nothing in the world can remain hidden."

"That… that's way too overpowered. If I had that kind of ability, I'd be unbeatable!" Xie Xie's eyes lit up with admiration. The name Yuanen had clearly left a deep mark on him—after all, she was the one who defeated him during the entrance exam.

For most new students, an opening ceremony was inevitable, and Shrek Academy was no exception.

The ceremony was held right on the freshly cleaned Lingbing Plaza. Ironically, Xie Xie and his group had just finished sweeping the plaza that morning, only for the school to immediately use it. Shrek Academy really knew how to get maximum use out of its resources.

It was also the first time Gu You truly grasped the scale of Shrek Academy.

The academy had six grade levels—not too different from most institutions—but each grade had around a hundred students. All six grades together barely exceeded seven hundred people.

What stood out most were the sixth-years. Some were already in their thirties, all of them looking steady and powerful. Yet they were still in the Outer Court. In most academies, graduation typically occurred between ages twenty-two and twenty-five. If Wu Zhangkong were attending Shrek as a student, he might only be considered fifth-year material.

The youngest students were clearly the new first-years, all under fifteen, with most around thirteen or fourteen.

Second-years were a bit older—at most by about three years—but the gap wasn't huge.

Each grade only had a single class. No subdivisions. That was Shrek. 'A place of rare talent,' and those who made it to the Inner Court were even rarer.

There was no stage built at the front of Lingbing Plaza, leaving students curious how the ceremony would begin—until, suddenly, figures descended from the sky.

It was a breathtaking moment for the newcomers. Over twenty figures floated gently down from above.

At the center of them all was none other than Silvermoon Douluo—Cai Yue'er.

Today, she wore a dark silver gown with her hair pinned up, her youthful beauty restored. Hands clasped behind her back, her demeanor was both calm and authoritative. Beside her stood other teachers, mostly aged thirty to fifty.

Gu You immediately spotted Wu Zhangkong and Shen Yi among them.

From their auras, Wu Zhangkong had already reached the Soul Sage realm—possibly approaching its peak.

Cai Yue'er led the group of teachers, all of whom hovered midair. Faint energy fields surrounded each of them, intimidating even from a distance.

Suspending oneself midair without relying on flight-type Spirits required at least a seven-ring cultivation level. While there were exceptions—such as using Spirit Bones, unique Spirit types, or Soul Tools—the fact remained: everyone floating there had the power of a Soul Douluo or above.

One middle-aged man stepped forward in the sky.

'Dou Zong—such terrifying power!' Gu You chuckled inwardly.

"A new academic year begins today. For Shrek Academy, this is the time we welcome fresh blood. Let's ask the Outer Court Dean, Silvermoon Douluo Cai Yue'er, to say a few words."

"Yes!"

The crowd burst into cheers and applause.

Cai Yue'er rose and gave a slight bow. She spoke calmly. "Shrek Academy never forces anyone to cultivate, but we also do not provide free education. Every year there is a minor assessment. Every three years, a major one. Fail the minor exam twice? Expelled. Fail the major exam once? Expelled. As such, the number of students will only decrease over time—never increase. This rule applies to every grade level."

"Sixth-year students who haven't yet graduated—your chances grow slimmer with each day. Thirty-five years old is your final deadline. As for new students—you may relax, you may choose not to work hard, but three years from now, there may no longer be a place for you here!"

"At the same time, Shrek never withholds resources from those who strive. Your teachers are your mentors. All training facilities in the academy are open to you—provided you have enough contribution points. Soon, you'll understand how valuable those points are. A new year begins. The glory and legacy of Shrek Academy was written by generations before you. Whether you become part of that brilliance or are cast out from it—it's not up to me. It's up to you. That's all. Class instructors, take your students back to your classrooms. The ceremony is over."

'That… that's it?' Gu You blinked in surprise. 'That was way shorter than I expected.'

Moments later, the airborne instructors each flew to their respective classes. As Gu You and his group saw both Shen Yi and Wu Zhangkong approaching, Gu You couldn't help but smile.

"Teacher Wu!" Gu You called out.

Wu Zhangkong nodded lightly, still as cold and distant as ever, offering no further greeting.

"You're only going to acknowledge him?" Shen Yi huffed in annoyance.

"Oh, right… and you too!" Gu You added sheepishly.

"You—" Shen Yi struggled with herself for a moment before choosing to let it go.

The first-year classroom was on the ground floor of the main teaching building. After entering and turning left, they walked over a hundred meters before arriving.

It was a large, tiered classroom that could seat three hundred people.

The group naturally sat in the front. There was one empty seat in the back, reserved for Tang Wulin…

The rest of the students quickly filled the room. About a third of the seats were occupied.

Shen Yi suddenly stepped onto the podium, her tone sharp.

"On behalf of Shrek Academy, I welcome you all. Now, listen closely and take notes. I will not repeat myself. Everything I say next concerns your future studies. Pay close attention."

"First—starting now, you are students of Shrek Academy. No matter what you do outside, as long as you're still enrolled here, you represent the academy. If you commit any serious misconduct, the academy will punish you directly. These punishments have nothing to do with the Federation!"

'Independent from the Federation?' Those words carried a heavy sense of authority and finality. Shrek Academy—and Shrek City—were known to be uniquely independent from the rest of the continent. Federation laws held no sway here. Shrek had its own system for handling matters...
