CHAPTER 50:The Goddess Awakens

That night, Fang sat in her room, silently recovering her powers—her mind focused, her heart steeled. The moment to avenge her people had finally come.

A knock broke her trance.

She opened her eyes slowly and stood, walking to the door. When she opened it, she found Syaoran standing there with a dinner tray in hand.

He stepped inside casually and sat on the bed. Fang looked at him, surprised.

"Syaoran? What are you doing here? It's late."

He gave her a soft smile. "I wanted to eat dinner with you. And tonight…I'm sleeping here."

Fang's eyes widened. Her voice trembled. "Y-You… what did you say?"

Syaoran chuckled and patted the space beside him. "Sit. Just for tonight—I want to be with you. Tomorrow we go to war. I want this memory to carry me through the battlefield. If I'm fighting with my heart… I'll return with glory."

Fang sat beside him, her voice tender. "You will win, Syaoran. And I'll be there, right beside you—to protect you."

He smiled and gently placed her hand on his cheek. "That's all I need."

With care, he opened the box and began to feed her. The two shared a quiet dinner—no words, only glances and smiles. Afterward, Syaoran lay on her bed.

Fang crossed her arms, a teasing frown on her face. "You really plan on sleeping here?"

Syaoran nodded and reached for her, pulling her gently into his arms. She stumbled onto the bed, stunned.

He placed his hand on her head and held her close, closing his eyes.

"I just want to sleep beside you. Let me recharge my power… with you."

Fang blushed but smiled softly. "Hmm… fine. Just for tonight."

She patted his back, and wrapped in each other's warmth, they slept peacefully—one last night before the storm.

---

The Day of Reckoning

Dawn broke with a sky veiled in thick clouds. Mist covered the land like a shroud, and the moon still glowed—unnaturally bright.

Syaoran stood at the front, his grandfather and Taio at his side. Fang, calm and determined, stood next to him. Behind them, the Lycan clan's soldiers stood ready—armed, disciplined, and unwavering.

Across the battlefield, the air shifted.

Lucian appeared, flanked by his own forces. His twisted laughter echoed through the valley.

"Lycan clan…" he bellowed. "Today, I will end you."

Syaoran stepped forward, his eyes burning with rage.

"You'll die here, Lucian."

Fang gripped her sword tightly.

Syaoran raised his sword high and roared, "Attack!"

The Lycan soldiers charged.

"Destroy Lucian and his clan!"

Steel clashed. Screams tore through the sky. The war had begun.

Syaoran fought furiously, his blade slicing through Lucian's men. Beside him, Fang took to the sky—eyes locked on Lucian.

"Lucian!" she yelled.

He turned, grinning wickedly.

"You dare call me by name? You'll fall here—and I'll take the stone. The world will bow to me."

Fang smirked. "Then come take it."

Their swords clashed in midair, sparks flying. Wind howled around them. They moved like gods—light and darkness, locked in furious battle.

Syaoran fought through blood and chaos, but his heart nearly stopped when he saw Fang facing Lucian alone. He called her name, but she didn't hear.

Fang struck hard—Lucian was thrown down.

She laughed, triumphant. But Lucian snarled and murmured a spell.

As the moon turned crimson, he knelt at a forgotten altar of bones.

With a blade of stardust, he sliced his palm and whispered:

"Sanguis Umbrae."

The earth trembled.

His blood hissed in the air.

Lucian rose—no longer a man, but a creature of shadows, born from pure hatred.

Fang gasped. Their swords clashed again—divine light against abyssal darkness.

Syaoran, now soaked in blood, stared at them in horror. They're no longer human. They're gods and demons.

Lucian's soldiers kept reviving—no matter how many the Lycans felled, they rose again.

Syaoran pressed on.

Please… let Fang be safe.

---

In the sky, Fang panted. Her strikes were powerful—but Lucian wouldn't fall.

He sneered. "You can't defeat me."

Suddenly—time froze.

The world stilled.

A golden light burst from the clouds—and Langshen descended.

Fang turned. "Langshen?"

"You must awaken, Lunarya," Langshen said. "Reveal your true form. Even with Syaoran's might, Lucian's clan cannot be defeated—they'll keep returning. Only your divine form can end this."

A memory sparked in Fang's mind—Lunarya battling Kaelvar under a cursed sky just like this.

She opened her eyes and smiled faintly.

"I understand."

"But you'll vanish again," Langshen warned.

Fang looked at Syaoran in the frozen battlefield, her eyes full of sorrow.

"I vanished once from betrayal… but now, I do it for love. For Lycan… and for him."

Tears welled in her eyes. "Syaoran… please live on. Be happy."

Langshen disappeared.

Time resumed.

---

Fang stepped forward as the storm raged.

Lucian laughed—unaware of the power rising inside her.

She whispered,

"Veritas Dea."

The sky split open.

A circle of light bloomed beneath her.

Her mortal shell shattered.

Wings of starlight unfurled.

Her eyes glowed with the cosmos.

She had returned—Goddess Lunarya.

Lucian took a step back, trembling.

"You… You're Lunarya?!"

She descended, voice echoing like thunder.

"You wished to face a goddess? Now stand—before the truth."

The Lycan soldiers dropped to their knees.

Even the old patriarch whispered in awe, "She has returned… Goddess Lunarya."

Syaoran stood frozen. Tears streamed down his face.

"Fang…"

Lucian screamed and lunged. Lunarya raised her hand.

"Nihil Solis."

Flames rained from the sky.

Lucian's soldiers dissolved into smoke.

Lucian faltered. He ran toward her—but she met him halfway, sword glowing.

She struck.

His heart was pierced. Blood spilled. He fell.

Lunarya gritted her teeth and reached into her chest—pulling out the ancient stone.

Syaoran screamed, "No—Fang, don't!"

But she crushed it in her palm.

Lucian vanished in ash.

Lunarya swayed.

She dropped her sword.

Syaoran caught her as she collapsed into his arms.

"Fang… Fang, don't leave me," he sobbed. "You promised."

She touched his cheek weakly, her voice a whisper.

"Syaoran… I saved you. I've avenged my past. Now… I can rest."

"No… please…" His voice cracked, broken.

She smiled softly. "We'll meet again... someday."

And with that—she vanished in his arms, like a fading light.

Only the bracelet remained in his hand.

Syaoran clutched it to his heart, crying her name into the silent wind.
