—Narrated by Eli Whitmore
---
The Weeping Hollow lived up to its name.
Cold mist clung to our skin as we crossed the threshold, entering a forest where the trees looked like they were crying. Every branch drooped low, heavy with dark, glistening moisture. We stepped softly—me, Thorne, Felix, Ryker, Luna, and Draven—each of us wrapped in layers of magical protection.
But deep down, we knew that no spell could shield the soul.
The Hollow was ancient. The air itself felt old, burdened with memories that weren't ours. It was said that the illusions here came from within—that your darkest truths would take shape before you, whispering lies wrapped in honesty.
Thorne moved beside me, his steps careful, his hand brushing against mine now and then, grounding me. "If anything happens," he said softly, "just remember—none of this is real. Not the voices, not the pain. Just stay with me."
I nodded.
Then, the fog thickened.
It separated us.

Eli's Illusion
I found myself standing in a field of graves.
Rows and rows of tombstones stretched endlessly. Names I knew—my friends, my parents, my ancestors. I fell to my knees in front of a cracked gravestone marked Thorne Everhart.
"No... no, you're not..."
Then he appeared behind me—lifeless, cold, accusing.
> "You couldn't save me."
My hands trembled. "I—I tried."
> "But trying isn't enough. Your gates bring destruction, Eli. You are the cause."
I shut my eyes. No. That's not true.
> "You think love will fix it? That Thorne's heart is yours to keep? You'll only hurt him. Just like the rest."
I reached into my pocket. My fingers closed around the silver key pendant, my mother's Amara gave me.
"I'm not running from this anymore," I said, rising. "I know who I am. I won't let fear decide for me."
The field shattered like glass, and the mist pulled away.

Thorne's Illusion
He stood before a child.
A boy who looked like a younger version of himself—alone, scarred, and scared.
> "You left me behind. You became like him."
"No," Thorne whispered. "I became me."
> "You bury everything. All the pain. One day it will eat you alive."
"I'm not afraid of pain. But I won't let it rule me. Not anymore."
The child vanished, replaced by moonlight.

Felix and Ryker's Illusion
A mirror stood between them.
Each saw the other walk away.
Felix cried, "Don't you dare believe that lie!"
Ryker punched the glass. "I won't leave you. No matter what version of me this place shows!"
The mirror cracked, and both reached through the mist, finding each other's hand.
---
Luna and Draven's Illusion
Luna saw her sister—alive, but angry.
> "Why did you move on? Why did you leave me behind?"
"I never did," Luna sobbed. "I carry you every day."
Draven stood before a throne—his father's voice echoing.
> "You were born to lead, not follow. Throw them away. Take power."
Draven growled, "Power without love is hollow."
Their illusions faded together.
---
We all met again, slowly finding our way back.
Eyes red, hearts tired—but stronger.
And then the mist parted.
Before us stood an ancient archway carved into a cliff.
Runes shimmered like tears.
A guardian emerged from the stone. It had no face, only light and shadow. A voice echoed in our minds.
> "You have faced the illusions of your soul. But truth alone does not open the gate. Only sacrifice may do that. One must offer their greatest fear."
We looked at each other. No one stepped forward. Until Thorne took a breath.
"Take mine," he said.
The light scanned him.
> "Speak it."
Thorne looked at me, then turned to the guardian.
"My greatest fear... is losing Eli. Failing to protect him. Becoming what my father was."
The runes on the gate flared, and the archway opened.
The Final Gate had been revealed.
And its power waited beyond.
We stood together, facing the unknown, but knowing now more than ever: we were not alone.
