Draven's pov

I never wanted to return to this world.

But when they took Kira, they didn't leave me a choice.

I stood at the edge of the old docks, staring into the black water as if it could drown the fury boiling in my chest. The cold wind sliced through my coat, but I barely felt it. All I saw was her face,Kira's fire, her strength, her goddamn stubbornness. And the thought of that light being snuffed out?

Unacceptable.

The ransom demand had come in blood. No names, no location, just an ultimatum and a timer. And I knew what it meant. If I didn't meet their demands by dawn, Kira would die.

I've dealt with monsters before.

But this?

This was personal.

I turned away from the sea and lit a cigarette with hands that no longer shook. My phone vibrated. One of my men. I answered with a clipped, "Talk."

"We've tracked the drop point. It leads through the Eastern sprawl. Territory's under Black Fang control now."
