Synopsis

Laurel Eldergrove, the unassuming herbalist of Willowmere, spends her days gathering enchanted herbs and brewing sleepytime teas.

Surrounded by gnarled willows and misty meadows, she tends to her village’s needs with gentle magic and good humor.

Each morning brings a new, low-stakes mystery — a talking cat with a toothache, a garden that swapped its flowers overnight, or a friendly ghost seeking advice on houseplants.

With cozy charm and a dash of whimsy, Laurel discovers that even the smallest spells can bring warmth and laughter to the mundane.

Shameless autor here 😜 So this is Herb & Hearth, a quiet little story about Laurel, an herbalist living in a village where things like glowing plants, talking cats, and mildly dramatic teapots happen more often than you’d expect. Nothing explodes. Nobody’s saving the world. Most of the time, it’s just someone with a small magical problem and Laurel figuring out how to help without making a big deal of it. The story is told from her point of view, so it stays pretty grounded—lots of herb mixing, weather observations, and very minor magical mishaps. There’s a set rhythm to things: a weird event, a bit of village chatter, some introspection, and a quiet resolution. If there’s tension, it’s usually about missing ingredients or awkward conversations with ghosts. It’s structured in arcs, with seasonal events tying everything together—flower festivals, harvest rituals, that kind of thing. Magic has rules, but it’s more of a background tool than a plot driver. It’s not fast-paced. Nothing huge happens. That’s kind of the point.
