No one was supposed to go near the construction site.



Especially not Miles—the quiet kid who fades into the background and keeps his head down.



But when he cuts through the lot one afternoon and finds a locked metal crate humming under a tarp, everything changes.



Inside it? Not treasure. Not trash.

Something alive.



The next day, the area’s fenced off tighter. The school issues a warning. And strangers in hazmat suits start showing up.
