Beneath it, Kael stood at the mouth of a forgotten cavern hidden under the ruins of his childhood home. Ancient runes etched into the stones pulsed as he stepped forward—his blood resonating with the seal.

"The place my ancestor buried it..."

Behind him, the Crownless remained silent. Even Gorn had no jokes.

The deeper they descended, the more surreal the world became.

Suddenly, Kael's body burned. Not physically—his soul itself ignited.

Aetharion standing against ten gods.

Writing the Codex in his own blood.

Burying it beneath the realm he loved most.

Kael collapsed at the altar, gasping. His hands moved on their own, drawing symbols into the ash-drenched floor.

"Return the Codex. And die quietly, Ascended Trash."

He raised his sword—and the Codex floated beside him, flipping open on its own.
