After the Carnage
Lilith stood panting in the blood-stained moss, surrounded by at least four fallen horned rabbits. Her legs trembled—not from fear, but fury and adrenaline.
Ren casually stepped over a twitching body, wiping his sword clean with a cloth.
"Not bad," he said, crouching beside one of the rabbits. "Messy. But effective."
"I hate this dungeon," Lilith muttered, breathing hard. "Rabbits are supposed to die, not stab back."
Ren smirked, pulled a small knife from his boot, and began slicing into the rabbit's pelt.
Lilith stared. "Wait. What are you doing?"
"Skinning them," he said casually. "And you are too."
He tossed her a small curved blade.
Lilith caught it clumsily. "...Excuse me?"
"You kill it, you clean it. The skin and meat sell for coin. That's the entire point of monster hunting."
"But…" She looked down at the still-warm body, ears flopped and eyes glassy. "I thought we just get the loot... Like, glowing drops or treasure chests."
Ren looked at her like she'd just insulted his bloodline. "You've read too many novels."
"That's literally my origin story!"
He chuckled and gestured at another fluffy corpse. "Go on. Start at the back legs. Slice, peel, and don't puncture the organs."
Lilith crouched beside her rabbit, stared at it... then looked up at him.
"This is gross."
"It's income."
"This is animal cruelty."
"It's post-mortem economy."
"This is the worst part of adventuring."
"You haven't even seen the latrine duty at camp yet."
Muttering under her breath, Lilith dug the blade into the fur. Her cuts were jagged, uneven, and slow. At one point, she tore the skin entirely in the wrong direction and nearly gagged.
Ren glanced over and burst out laughing.
"Are you trying to make rabbit confetti?"
"Shut up! This is my first time!"
"I'm shocked," he deadpanned.
Just as Lilith managed to scrape off something vaguely hide-shaped, her vision flickered.

The system answered with silence.
"Also—'do not engage in intercourse during installation'?! That's an actual warning?!"
Ren raised an eyebrow. "Are you okay?"
"Nothing," Lilith said quickly. "Just yelling at my inner demon."
"Ah," Ren nodded. "Classic dungeon coping method."
Lilith crossed her arms. "You're way too comfortable in this nightmare."
He grinned. "You'll get used to it."
She glanced down at her blood-smeared hands and shredded rabbit. "I better get a stat point for this."

Lilith mentally focused on the system's stat window, and a faint glow shimmered in her vision.
Ten points. Let's not waste them. Strength's fine, but… those rabbits moved like teleporting furballs.
Speed. I need speed.
She dragged her mental cursor.

Lilith's fingers twitched. She felt it instantly—not overwhelming, but present. A lightness in her limbs. A tension coiled in her calves.
Huh. I feel... twitchier? Faster. Like I could dodge a stabby bunny now instead of screaming.
She turned to Ren and smirked.
"I just got faster."
He blinked. "Did you drink a potion?"
"Nope. Leveled up."
Ren snorted. "You make it sound like a sneeze."

Glowrock Hollow – Zone 1: Burrow of Thorns
They stood near the far end of the cavern, just past a dense ridge of bioluminescent thistlegrass. The air felt different here—heavier, charged.
Ren slung his bag over one shoulder and stretched his arms. "Alright, Princess. You've had your kill count, you've skinned your bunnies, and you got stabbed once. That's a full adventure in my book."
Lilith wiped her brow with the back of her hand. "Are you saying we're done?"
"I'm saying there are two paths ahead. One leads sideways into more rabbit packs. The other…" He tilted his chin toward a narrow tunnel flanked by thorn-crusted roots. "Leads to the mini-boss."
Lilith's ears perked up. "There's a boss rabbit?"
"Alpha Horned Rabbit. Bigger. Faster. Smarter. Tougher. She eats rookies for breakfast."
"Still a rabbit, though?"
Ren gave her a long look. "...Yes. But with better horns and anger management issues."
Lilith stepped forward, eyes gleaming. "Let's do it."
"You sure?"
"I didn't come here to farm XP on fluffballs forever."
Ren smirked. "Alright then. You take point. I've got your back."
---
The Alpha Appears
The tunnel opened into a wide hollow of softly glowing moss and stone. It was eerily quiet—no rustling, no chirps. Only the distant drip of cave moisture and the sound of their footsteps.
And then—there she was.
The Alpha Horned Rabbit stood alone on a mossy rise.
Unlike the others, her fur was a deep, vivid red, almost scarlet under the blue-green light. Her body was larger, almost the size of a small dog. One horn was long and sharply curved; the other was short and jagged like a broken antler.
Lilith stopped in her tracks.
"She's… fluffy," she said, almost breathless. "Like stupidly cute."
The Alpha tilted its head.
Then crouched.
And vanished in a blur.
---
The Fight Begins
"MOVE!" Ren shouted.
Lilith instinctively threw herself sideways just as the Alpha darted past, slicing the air where she'd stood with one horn. The creature landed, spun mid-air, and charged again.
Lilith spun her spear defensively, managing to parry the next charge with a clumsy deflection. "She's too fast!"
"You wanted the lead, remember?!" Ren yelled.
"Then I'll prove I earned it!"
She exhaled sharply, narrowing her eyes.
Speed stat, don't fail me now.
The Alpha circled, red eyes glinting. This one didn't fight like the others—it watched, it waited.
Lilith surged forward.
The Alpha dodged left.
Lilith stopped short, reversed her swing—and grazed its side.
A squeal.
She smirked. "Got you."
The Alpha's eyes narrowed.
Uh-oh.
It launched into a flurry of zigzag movements, weaving between thistlegrass and moss tufts.
Lilith struggled to keep up—until Ren snapped his fingers.
"Burn Trail!"
A wave of fire spread across the moss, forcing the Alpha to leap up to avoid it. Lilith was ready.
She stabbed mid-air.
The Alpha twisted, one horn clipping her arm, and landed behind her.
Pain flared—but not enough to stop her.
She spun, swept low, and clipped its hind leg.
Ren flanked from the side. "Flame Lance!"
A narrow jet of fire shot forward. The Alpha dodged, but it singed her flank.
Lilith lunged again, trading blows—horn to spear, sweat stinging her eyes.
Finally, as the Alpha reared for another leap, Lilith feinted a retreat.
"NOW!"
Ren hurled a burst of flame behind the Alpha. It instinctively dodged forward—right into Lilith's waiting spear.
The strike wasn't clean—but it was deep.
The Alpha thrashed once, then collapsed.
Lilith panted, her arms trembling, heart hammering.
"…I did it?"
Ren walked over, clapping her shoulder. "We did it."
She blinked.
Then grinned wide. "I killed a mini-boss. A red-furred, stabby-horned demon bunny."
Ren chuckled. "You're officially adventurer material now."
"Damn right I am."
After the Fight
Lilith dropped to her knees beside the fallen Alpha, panting like she'd just run a marathon. Her arms were trembling from the effort. Sweat clung to her neck. Her spear was stained with steam-warmed blood.
And yet—she was grinning like a madwoman.
Mini-boss: down. Spear: unbroken. Pride: maximum.

Lilith stared at the floating window.
"…Seriously? No treasure chest? No shiny weapon? Not even a fluffy badge that says 'Bunny Slayer'?"
Ren crouched beside the Alpha's corpse, pulling out his skinning knife with a casual flick.
"You want fluff? Grab your knife. This one's still warm."
Lilith blinked at him. "You're not seriously gonna butcher the boss bunny…"
Ren looked at her with all the warmth of a tax accountant. "You do know how this works by now, right?"
"But she's so… FLUFFY."
"And it's worth about 100 Narr in hide. 120 if you don't botch it like last time."
He handed her a second blade.
Lilith stared down at the vibrant red fur, sighing. "Sorry, girl. You were terrifying. But you're also rent money."
