All eyes burned into me, filled with accusation.

"Ms. Hayes was so good to you! How could you tarnish her legacy like this! Using her, and then daring to provoke Mr. Sterling!"

"You ungrateful wretch! Ms. Hayes must be turning in her grave, regretting she ever took you as her disciple!"

"Art demands integrity too!"

I cut through their furious condemnations. "Everyone," I stated clearly, "I admit that Delilah's graduation project was originally my creation, and the crimson thorn emblem was also designed by me."

Upon hearing this, Alexander’s eyes blazed with incandescent rage. "Why?!"

"Ellie poured her heart and soul into teaching you everything she knew! On her deathbed, she even entrusted me with finding you, with supporting you! And this is how you repay her sacred trust!"

"Mr. Sterling, please, calm yourself! I love my mentor more deeply than anyone here."
