"Their deaths were accidental, but you can't escape your culpability. Prepare yourself for a lawsuit."
A single sentence made his expression freeze, his eyes lifting in disbelief.
"They were all working perfectly fine in the villa, how could they not have escaped?"
The assistant's face was grim; after a long, strained silence, he finally managed to utter,
"Sir, they said when the bodyguards were discovered, they were all lying outside the bedroom door, without any breath, and no signs of a struggle."
Damian knew exactly what those words implied.
His heart felt as if it had been savagely torn apart, a horrifying truth slowly dawning in his mind.
He couldn't bring himself to believe it, shutting his eyes in despair.
"First, handle their funeral arrangements. Tomorrow, arrange compensation for their families."
"And... Claire's whereabouts—keep searching!"
Sleepless all night, Damian knelt in the pouring rain.
