Chapter 9

Damian was utterly frantic.

"Her leg injury hasn't healed yet! When I left, she was lying on the floor, unable to get up. Where could she possibly have gone?!"

"Find her! If you can't find her by tonight, you don't need to work for me anymore! Pack your things and get out!"

Hanging up the phone, his chest heaved violently.

The soundly sleeping Amber was awakened by the commotion.

Hearing the voice on the other end of the line, a flicker of triumph crossed her eyes.

Damian couldn't shake off his unease and was about to head to the villa to see for himself.

Amber suddenly cried out in pain.

"Ah... Damian, where are you going?"

His footsteps halted. He hurriedly dressed, not sparing her a single glance.

"There's trouble at home. I'm going back to check. You stay here. If you don't feel well, call a doctor!"

The next second, an arm suddenly wrapped around his waist, holding him tightly.

"Damian, I don't want you to leave..."

"I don't want to be alone here."
