Chapter 71: Brothers, Let’s Make Money

At the headquarters of the Assassin Brotherhood, Smith Doyle was seated in his office when Fox approached with a file in hand.

"Boss," Fox reported, "the notices about the name change from Continental Hotel to Assassin Brotherhood, as well as the global bounty, have all been sent out. Here are the designs for our new exclusive coins. We have two versions."

She showed them to him: one version had his portrait on the front with the Brotherhood emblem on the back, while the other had his portrait on the front and their iconic three-segment bullet depicted on the back.

Smith thought for a moment, then said:"Go with the one that has the Brotherhood emblem. Keep the three-segment bullet as a separate token, not on the coin."

He added:"Also, start editing and releasing videos that showcase the wax bath's recovery effects. Those will really motivate the killers."

Fox smiled knowingly."I'll have the old footage edited and posted."

Smith nodded in satisfaction. The plan was simple — let the killers of the underground world throw themselves at the Hand, wearing down their numbers, while his own assassins provided long-range sniper support. As for the Hand's five Fingers, they were his to handle personally.

In Hell's Kitchen, Wilson Fisk stepped out of the Midland Circle Financial building with Bullseye and a few of his men. As they left, another group of armed men was seen entering the building, eyeing Fisk's crew but saying nothing.

Inside his car, Fisk asked one of his men:"What's going on in New York?"

The man quickly reported:"The Continental has officially been renamed the Assassin Brotherhood. They've reopened, but the only bounty on their board is for members of the Hand. Also, they've launched a new product — the wax bath — which is very tempting to the underground world."

As more killers arrived, Fisk looked out the window at the bloody lobby of the building."So… the Brotherhood has made its move," he murmured."Let's leave this place."

Inside the Midland building, the first wave of killers clashed with the Hand's operatives. Gunfire roared, shuriken whizzed through the air, and snipers stationed outside picked off Hand members through the shattered windows.

On the top floor, Madame Gao and the other Fingers watched the chaos unfold on the monitors. Shin entered and reported:"Many killers have breached the first floor, and there are snipers positioned outside."

Madame Gao scowled."So they want to give us a show of force before we establish ourselves here."

She turned to Shin and ordered coldly:"Take a team and kill them all."

Another guard transferred the security feeds to the conference room screen. Gao watched closely — the attackers seemed disorganized, poorly equipped, more like a mob than a coordinated strike force.

But as the Hand's tactical squads began pushing them back, the snipers outside adjusted their aim and forced the Hand's operatives to retreat once more.

Some killers cut off trophies from dead Hand members and withdrew from the fight, while others stubbornly held the stairwells despite grenades and concentrated firepower. Finally, Shin and his ninjas finished off the last wave of intruders, while the snipers packed up and disappeared.

At the same time in Tokyo, the Hand's stronghold there also came under attack by local assassins. Across the world, killers flocked to New York and Tokyo, eager to prove themselves in the Brotherhood's first official bounty and earn their share of wax bath tokens.

Elsewhere, Helen approached Pool and said anxiously:"Please… help John. He went after the Hand alone, and I'm worried about him."

Pool nodded, impressed by John Wick's loyalty to the Young Master."Don't worry. I'll cover him. The Young Master's people won't die at the hands of trash."

He called for a car and headed straight for Hell's Kitchen.
