Chapter 94 – Successful Rescue

Below, throngs of prisoners rushed out alongside Alexei.

The deep pit prison blared its alarms as armed guards poured into the perimeter, even deploying heavy weapons from within the compound.

From their vantage points, guards opened fire on the fleeing inmates.

Smith instantly descended to Alexei, seizing him by the arm.

The prisoners trailing behind Alexei rushed forward, recognizing that a flying man must be connected to the Red Guardian and hoping he'd take them too.

Smith frowned and barked:"Back off. All of you, get back in your cells."

Most of these inmates weren't like Alexei, who'd been thrown in for political reasons — the rest were anything but good people.

Yet the prisoners didn't retreat. Instead, they reached for Alexei.

Knowing Smith was here to rescue him, Alexei glanced at the guards and said:"Buddy, get me out of here now. I don't want to spend another second here."

Just then, guards opened fire to control the crowd. Some charged in with stun batons.

For the ordinary prisoners, the armed guards were overwhelming.

Bullets clanged harmlessly off Smith's body, flattening and falling to the ground. The guards stared wide-eyed — not even the Red Guardian himself could shrug off assault rifle rounds like that.

Alexei gasped:"The outside world… has people like you now?"

The prisoners around them weren't so lucky. Bullets meant for Smith tore through their bodies.

Screams filled the snowy yard as smarter inmates began scattering back into the prison, but others still clung to Smith as their only hope.

Smith raised a hand and fired two ki blasts, blowing the attacking guards away.

"Boom!""Boom!"

Then he formed another ki blast in his palm and said to the inmates:"Turn around and get back to your cells."

But the glimmer of hope only made them more desperate, refusing to budge.

Smith shook his head."If you won't go back… then you won't have to."

"Boom!"

He tossed the blast into the throng, instantly scattering them, leaving many dead.

Alexei silently stood to the side as the remaining prisoners finally panicked, running off in all directions.

Meanwhile, a squad of guards noticed the helicopter above and opened fire on it. Bullets peppered the cockpit, forcing John Wick and Natasha to duck as John quickly raised their altitude.

More guards with batons charged in, but Smith flashed past them at superhuman speed, sending them flying.

From a nearby pillbox, a heavy machine gun opened up on the helicopter. Smith aimed and hurled another ki blast.

"Boom!"

The pillbox exploded, but the blasts triggered a massive avalanche from the mountainside.

Watching the fleeing prisoners below, Smith muttered:"Idiots."

Grabbing Alexei, he soared toward the helicopter. Natasha pulled the door open, shouting:"Avalanche! Hurry!"

The roaring snow barreled down as Smith glanced back at the panicked prisoners and guards scrambling back into the prison.

He shook his head — no way was he going to waste a kamehameha just to save them.

Once aboard the helicopter, he let Alexei go."He's yours. Let's get out of here."

As the avalanche thundered down, Alexei stood at the open door and shouted back at the prison:"Goodbye, bastards!"

Closing the door, Natasha watched the snow crash below and murmured:"Before nature, humans are so small."

But Smith shook his head."No — you're just too weak. Something like this wouldn't even scratch me.""Stopping it wouldn't be hard, but the damage to the landscape isn't worth it.""Not for their sake."

Natasha froze. If what Smith said was true… just how terrifying was he?

Alexei spoke up:"Thank you for getting me out, sir."

Then he turned to Natasha:"I never thought you'd think of me. I'm proud you came for me — it means a lot.""And to see someone this powerful out here… the world really has changed."

He gave Smith a thumbs-up.

Natasha added:"This is Mr. Smith Doyle. He might just be the strongest being in the world.""Or as we call him — God.""He's the one who told me where you were."

Hearing "God" startled Alexei. Arrogant as it sounded, what he'd seen made it believable. In medieval times, someone like Smith really would have been worshipped.

Alexei extended a hand."Thank you again, Mr. Smith."

Smith shook it and said:"I had my reasons for getting you out."

Seeing Alexei's questioning look, Natasha said seriously:"Have you heard of the Red Room?"

Alexei's expression darkened."Ah… look at you, always doing business."

But Natasha's eyes didn't waver."Believe me. This is no joke."
