Chapter 5

I was one of the pack’s highest earners. Everyone knew Edwards’ family lived on my income.

Now they would see him for what he was—a weak Enforcer who could not even provide for his own mate.

I checked my healing practice’s schedule. Even on vacation, I had clients willing to pay $2,000 per session.

I would conduct consultations by video from my luxury suite. Why waste the billable hours?

After two sessions, I received a call from the pack’s Beta.

“Liana, Edwards’ family is making a scene at pack headquarters. They are demanding emergency funds.”

“Not my problem anymore.”

“Harley is telling everyone you abandoned them. Rebecca is crying about a stolen pendant.”

“The pendant Edwards bought her with my money?”

The Beta sighed. “This is becoming a disaster. Edwards’ reputation is in tatters.”

“Good. Perhaps he will learn to live within his means.”

I received a text from my bank. Edwards had attempted to access my personal accounts.
