Chapter 9: Fireworks of Flesh — A Confession Beneath the Stars

---

The second night of the class trip was quieter.

Too quiet.

Dinner was full of smiles, games, and fake laughter. But under that surface — beneath the chopsticks and shared jokes — something deeper brewed.

Jealousy.

Curiosity.

Desire.

And above it all, the pressure of something unspoken.

Tonight was fireworks night.

And someone was planning to make their move.

---

A Walk to Remember

The sky was velvet dark, pierced by stars.

Students scattered across the field, laying down mats and opening snacks. The teachers stayed near the front, distracted by sake and small talk.

Aoi sat at the edge of it all — quietly alone, watching as couples started forming around him.

> "Mind if I join?"

He looked up.

It was Miyu.

No glasses tonight.

Just a quiet, determined smile.

> "Not at all."

She sat beside him, knees tucked in.

For a while, they said nothing.

Then the first firework burst across the sky — gold and green.

And she finally whispered,

> "I want to kiss you again."

---

The Confession

He turned, surprised by her bluntness.

But her eyes didn't waver.

> "I know about the others. Rika. Sayaka. I don't care. I mean— I do. But…"

She swallowed hard.

> "I still want you. Even if I have to fight for you."

Another firework.

This one red.

It painted her face in soft light, made her look like she was glowing.

Aoi's heartbeat spiked.

He reached for her hand.

Held it.

Squeezed.

> "You already have me," he said softly.

Her breath caught.

Then she leaned forward — no hesitation this time.

Her lips met his under the fireworks.

Soft at first.

Then deeper.

Hungrier.

---

Out of Sight

Minutes later, they slipped away from the crowd — no one noticed.

Down a hill, into the trees.

Somewhere private.

Somewhere quiet.

Only the echo of distant fireworks followed them.

---

Hands, Heat, and Heartbeats

They kissed again, this time with less restraint.

Miyu's hands slid up under his shirt.

His found the curve of her back.

She gasped as he pressed her gently against a tree, his lips on her neck.

> "Say my name," she whispered.

> "Miyu…"

> "Again."

> "Miyu."

Her fingers curled in his shirt.

His lips moved lower, finding her collarbone, her shoulder, the line of her chest.

She wasn't wearing a bra.

> "I… I wanted you to notice me," she breathed.

> "I do."

He kissed lower.

She arched against him.

Their breath fogged in the cool night.

But their bodies burned.

---

The Edge of Too Far

She trembled as his fingers explored her.

Soft.

Gentle.

But not innocent.

> "We should stop," she whispered, even as she pulled him closer.

> "Do you want to?"

> "...No."

Another kiss.

Another gasp.

The wind blew through the trees, scattering cherry petals.

And their bodies found a rhythm all their own — clothed, but far from pure.

They didn't go all the way.

But they got close.

Very close.

And when it was over, they held each other under the stars, flushed and breathless.

> "You're mine tonight," she whispered.

> "And tomorrow?"

> "We'll see."

---

Back to the Room

Sayaka and Rika noticed immediately.

Her messy hair.

His swollen lips.

The way they avoided eye contact.

> "Someone had a good walk," Sayaka teased.

Miyu just smiled.

Rika said nothing — but her stare was sharp.

The competition was heating up.

And the next battle?

Was coming sooner than Aoi expected.
