The Next Morning – Office
Arohi arrived at the office, but her mind was still replaying last evening's incident over and over again.
Just then, Dhruv walked in.
Dhruv (teasing):
"Did you even sleep last night? Or were you too busy thinking about me?"
(laughing loudly)
Arohi (smirking):
"Ghosts aren't exactly what I think about at night, Dhruv."
Dhruv (grinning):
"Woah,
Both of them laughed and then got busy with their work.

One Days Later – Evening
Arohi's thoughts were restless. It's been since that night, and Nirvay hasn't called, hasn't messaged, and hasn't even called me to his cabin. How am I supposed to focus on work like this?
The one more day passed in the same way—no message, no call.
Arohi (thinking to herself):
It's been two days. Why am I even thinking about this? Focus, Arohi. You're just friends. You're the one who set those boundaries.
Just then, Sukhi called.
Sukhi:
"Did you sleep?"
Arohi:
"No, not yet."
Sukhi:
"So… tell me, how's it going between you and Nirvay?"
(teasing voice)
Arohi:
"He's my CEO. I'm just an employee. What exactly do you think is going on?"
Sukhi:
"Yeah yeah, say whatever you want, but seriously yaar… his physique is just wow."
Arohi:
"You're committed, Sukhi. Show some shame."
Sukhi:
"Oh, someone's getting offended now? Look Arohi, his body belongs to you, okay? I'm just appreciating beauty. Beautiful things should always be appreciated."
Arohi:
"I'm going to sleep. Bye, good night."
She hung up the call.
Should I text him? But what would I even say? 'Why aren't you messaging me or calling me?' No, forget it. Sleep, Arohi. Just sleep.

The Next Day – Office
Arohi kept herself busy with work. Suddenly, her phone buzzed with a message.
Nirvay's message:
Come to my cabin now.
Arohi (replying sarcastically):
Why? What's the matter? There are way more senior people than me in the marketing department. They'll probably be more useful to you.
Nirvay (replied instantly):
Come right now. Otherwise…
Arohi (irritated):
Otherwise?
Nirvay:
Otherwise…
Seeing the message, Arohi sighed and walked straight toward his cabin.
Outside, Ruby, Nirvay's personal assistant, greeted her.
Ruby:
"Sir has been waiting just for you."
Arohi:
"Hmm."
She knocked on the door.
Nirvay:
"Come in. Have a seat."
Arohi (standing, challenging):
"Otherwise, what? Come on, say it. And no, I won't sit. You were about to say, 'Otherwise, I'll fire you,' right?"
Nirvay (smiling slightly):
"No. I was going to say 'Otherwise, I'll come to you myself.' That was the full sentence."
Arohi:
"I feel like with all this, I'll be forced to resign soon."
Nirvay:
"Arohi, did you read the full agreement before joining this company?"
Arohi:
"Yes, I did."
Nirvay:
"Come here, let me show you something."
He opened his laptop and pulled up the agreement.
Nirvay:
"Read Clause No. 23… Wait, I'll read it for you. It clearly says you can't resign for one year. If you do, you'll have to pay a penalty of 10 lakhs. Just 10 lakhs? I need to talk to HR about this. It should've been at least 1 crore."
Arohi (angrily):
"Are you seriously blackmailing me right now?"
Nirvay:
"You're too valuable to this company. How can I let you go? Actually, I'll ask HR to update it to 1 crore. Maybe even 2 crores."
Arohi (frustrated):
"What do you actually want, Nirvay?"
Nirvay:
"You.
I mean, I want you to keep working here in my company. That's all."
Nirvay (calming himself):
"Look, I'm going to be officially announced as the CEO this coming Saturday. I just want you to forget about what happened last Sunday evening, please."
Arohi:
"I'll think about it."
Nirvay:
"Please… it's a really important day for me. I want us to be on good terms."
Arohi:
"Hmm."
Nirvay:
"Want some ice cream?"
Hearing that, Arohi instantly recalled the Sunday evening moment—the ice cream, the bridge, and how Nirvay touched her lips.
Arohi:
"No. I'm leaving."
She walked out.
Nirvay (smiling to himself):
"Bye…"
