In the canyon behind the Cornish coast, a tall young man with long black hair, shirtless, and a golden sun-sword mark shaped like an anchor on his chest, his body rippling with muscles, stood at a high vantage point.
This was Seleucus, later known as 'the Victor'.
Unlike his blond appearance in the King's Army, at this moment, he wasn't in his legendary form, achieved during the Wars of the Diadochi by using the 'God of Bow, King of Sword' ability from his father god Apollo's bloodline.
He was merely a common, unproven personal guard in the Conqueror King's service, who, by the King's favor, had been parachuted into command of a legion.
Currently, he stood at the top of the canyon, watching the gradually concluding chaotic battle below, yet he seemed to have no intention of participating. He simply allowed Su Ya's cavalry to flank and rout the phalanx legion, watching as the phalanx disintegrated ring by ring, like a flawed precision instrument.
The legion below, named 'Seleucus's Legion,' was actually Philotas's private army. He, having been reassigned, was merely there to ensure the plan unfolded as the King intended.
Though appearing to constantly be with the legion, Seleucus was, in reality, merely a will-avatar created by combining the 'Eye of the Sun God' with Aristotle's metaphysical grand magic.
It was a form of servant summoning, a grand magic that required individuals with a legendary disposition and divine bloodline to withstand its side effects. Seleucus's main class was Swordsman, his sub-class Archer, yet what appeared here was a Berserker-type servant, a form completely unrelated to him and significantly weaker. The outside world also believed that Berserker was his true class.
However, his main body was currently lurking in the central army camp to the north, and by now, he had probably single-handedly intercepted the rebel army on the Gorsevale Plain, cut off the heads of Parmenion and Philotas, and was returning to the King's chariot to report.
The true Seleucus had just unleashed his Noble Phantasm, summoning Apollo's golden sword, which consumed a vast amount of mana. Along with that, his avatar here also paid a large amount of mana, linked to the mana circuit through the mana core, which allowed 'him' to understand what he truly was. No wonder he had recently felt his mind was insufficient; he, possessing the 'Eye of the Sun God,' was actually blinded by a Thousand-Faced Dragon, and even exposed a flaw before the King's chariot because of it, being seen through by Parmenion.
However, although the plan encountered a slight deviation, leading Parmenion to secretly cooperate with Philotas in initiating the rebellion, and even diverting some companion cavalry right under his nose, he ultimately managed to successfully deal with these two rebels and completely annihilate over 20,000 rebel troops through the miracle of brute force.
And now—
Seleucus slowly raised his hand, the sun-sword pattern on his chest faintly glowing. Countless golden particles condensed into a black-and-gold longsword in his palm.
The sword's name: [Golden Radiance]!
This was Apollo's golden sword, inherited from him, ranked A+, its origin being a blessing Apollo left for his divine son.
Its power, with a single strike, could probably wipe out all of Su Ya and his seemingly victorious group below.
"So, shall I eliminate them here?" Seleucus mused to himself.
This was a question from his main body's side – the main body and the ministers before the King's chariot had not seen Su Ya and did not know the character of this young man who might become the 'Queen'.
Thus, they left the decision to him, who had personally witnessed Su Ya's character, to determine whether this new king of Britannia was worthy of an audience with the King's chariot.
"Character?" Seleucus murmured, thinking for a moment, frowning slightly. He didn't know how to evaluate it.
Considering Su Ya's actions, he was despicable and shameless in battle, utterly lacking chivalry. Everything he did seemed to be for himself; calling him a knight would be an insult to the word.
However, judging by the outcome, he, with 300 men, achieved the miracle of reorganizing King Uther's 30,000 routed troops. When planning the breakout, he also considered how to save as many lives as possible.
As a king, his character was noble and benevolent, even to the point of being so pedantic it verged on womanly compassion.
However, Seleucus thought about it.
'Queen' seemed to be exactly this kind of image?
And most importantly—
Seleucus remembered the King's joyous expression, as if seeing a rare treasure, when mentioning Su Ya while bringing Hector for an audience with the King's chariot.
He shook his head and waved his hand, dispersing the black-and-gold longsword in his hand.
He decided to let the King personally decide whether this person was fit to be 'Queen'.
Seleucus took one last look down below, confirming that Su Ya's group had completely annihilated Philotas's remaining forces.
Thus, as a guardian in the night, his body transformed into golden particles, quietly scattering into the approaching dawn.
On the other side,
"In this battle, our side lost over six thousand men, and the wounded are currently difficult to count."
"We captured over a thousand warhorses, more than two thousand Sarissa pikes, and over a thousand intact Greek bronze breastplates. These are enough for us to arm another battle group."
On a desolate battlefield, on the shimmering moonlit coast, Su Ya gazed at the full moon descending towards the sea, listening to Merli tallying the battle results. He turned back sharply and asked:
"What about Seleucus?"
"Is that guy not here?"
Earlier, Su Ya and his group had arrived to set up an ambush outside the coconut grove a little after 3 AM. At Lucan's firm insistence, they waited until Dagonet launched a full-scale charge before choosing to attack.
The purpose was to guard against the possible appearance of Seleucus.
According to Lucan, even the weakest hero could single-handedly take on a thousand; the transition from Master to Hero brought about a fundamental change in life's very essence. This 'thousand' who could be taken on single-handedly referred to a thousand individuals, all possessing classes, as high-level professionals.
Su Ya's three thousand high-level cavalry were the only hope to delay the enemy, allowing the main army to cross the canyon and reach the Gorsevale Plain, their last guarantee.
However, even after they had completely annihilated all Macedonian soldiers, there was no trace of Seleucus.
Merli shook her head. "Cavalry reconnaissance has been dispatched, but the reports all state... no trace of Seleucus has been found."
"Moreover, there seem to be no pursuers behind us."
Su Ya thought, isn't that a good thing? Why aren't we running then?
Merli seemed to be waiting for something.
Soon, a figure on horseback galloped from the other side of the canyon. It was Dagonet, who had gone out to scout the intelligence beyond the Gorsevale Plain. Su Ya was by now accustomed to Dagonet, the knight, doing a rogue's job.
And then, Dagonet, with a look of horror and alarm, galloped his warhorse to Su Ya's side and swallowed, seemingly wanting to say something.
Su Ya felt immediately curious and asked, "Sir Dagonet, what's wrong? What did you see?"
Dagonet took a few deep breaths, trying to calm his inner turmoil, and stammered:
"I saw... I saw..."
"The sun... fall to earth!"
