Val’s P.O.V

He walked with Derek and two other basketball guys, radiating barely contained fury. His face read contempt and cunning surprise. His eyes scanned the room, locking instantly and hitting onto my table like a heat-seeking missile. He said something to Derek, who smirked and they started heading straight towards us.

It was no surprise to me that he and Derek were allies, only that I was a bit shaken that he wasn’t sneaking on his mischievous bullying this time. He brought it to the outside, and the way he strolled coming, it seemed like a confrontation, or like I’d been owing him something that I didn’t want to give back. “What a daring and frightening look on his oily forehead and face dripping with sweat?”
