The radiating fallout had just triggered a physical meltdown. The weight of it was paralyzing. The guilt that I had to face wasn’t just a thick lump anymore; it was a crushing mountain, and my heart played drums and piano keys skipping beats a couple of thousand times more than one, especially because the office we were headed to would finally land us standing before the disciplinary council.

OMG! I wasn’t just making those who hated me turn into arch enemies, I was multiplying my number of haters. I’d weaponized and fired it indiscriminately, hitting everyone I had cared about and countless others in the crossfire.
