Chapter 119: Rogue Ninja Danzo

Danzo slowly pushed up the sleeve of his right arm, exposing the white bandages wrapped around it.

With a light tug, the white bandages slid off like ribbons, revealing beneath them the golden sealing ninja tool covering his right hand.

Though the golden sealing device had yet to be opened, the pale grayish skin visible on his arm was already abnormal—entirely different from normal skin, resembling lifeless clay in its dull, gray tone.

Although Hiruzen had suspected something, he was still shocked by the unnatural appearance of Danzo's arm.

He pointed at Danzo in disbelief and bellowed, "Danzo, you've betrayed us! What vile acts have you committed in secret?"

The other ninjas could only stare wide-eyed in shock—clearly, this was no ordinary prosthetic limb. Could it be that Danzo had secretly allied with Shimon Hiruko?

"Do you know what lies beneath these sealing tools?" rasped Danzo, his voice unusually dry and hoarse. His dream of becoming Hokage shattered, madness filled his eyes.

Danzo pressed his hand onto the first clasp of the golden sealing tool.

Clank!

The first buckle came undone, clattering onto the tiled floor with a crisp metallic sound.

No one noticed the echo—their gazes were locked solely on Danzo's right arm.

Clank!

The second buckle snapped open!

Clang!

The third buckle unlatched!

Freed from restraint, the sealing tool instantly dropped away.

Bang!

It hit the floor hard, producing a sharp, lingering resonance.

A heavy silence filled the room as all eyes focused on Danzo's right arm.

What lay beneath the sealing device wasn't even the Chimera Technique limb—it no longer mattered now.

Danzo's pale, bloodless arm looked terrifying—grotesque cracks ran along its surface, each embedded with a Sharingan eye.

Horrifying, horrifying, shocking, sickening...

Everyone shuddered, unable to look away from such a grotesque sight.

Speak, Danzo! What monstrous act have you committed? Where did you steal those Sharingan from?!

Fugaku's three-tomoe Bloodshot Eyes spun rapidly, brimming with barely restrained fury and killing intent.

There were eight Sharingan eyes embedded in Danzo's arm—each likely harvested from an Uchiha clan member, meaning he had killed at least four of them.

"Ahhh... Hahaha... Hehehe..."

Danzo grinned maniacally while caressing his monstrous arm. "Do you know? This is the real Root buried beneath Konoha! See how vast and mighty it truly is!"

Aozora shouted urgently, "Clan Head, end him now!"

Unfortunately, it was already too late—Danzo attacked first.

[Wood Release – Root Burial!]

Chakra surged through Danzo's arm as it morphed into a monstrous, living tree trunk.

Countless branches exploded outward, tearing through the stone floor and bursting through the sturdy walls. They kept growing at terrifying speed.

Inside the meeting chamber were mostly elite Konoha ninjas, who reacted instantly.

Yet the speed of the spreading branches was too fast—faster than anyone could react.

Moreover, the enclosed space of the meeting room was simply too small for anyone to dodge.

The Anbu nearest to Danzo were the first to fall. Branches lanced out like spears, skewering them instantly, leaving gaping wounds across their bodies.

The one who came closest to inheriting the Hokage title after the Third was Hiruzen Sarutobi. He summoned Enma immediately, wielding the Adamantine Staff with such skill that not a single branch could slip past his defense.

Then, the branches reached the conference table, descending like a storm of blades, leaving no corner untouched. The suffocating aura of death gripped everyone present.

Aozora instantly activated his Sharingan, recording his current state and connecting to an unknown void, ready to use Izanagi at any moment.

Witnessing the Anbu fall in brutal agony, cold dread washed over the room as despair settled into their hearts, preparing for a final, hopeless struggle.

Just when it seemed the people inside would be wiped out, Aozora saw Fugaku's body flash red—then a crimson phantom burst from him.

Roar!

Though no sound reached their ears, every soul felt as if they had heard a divine roar from the heavens.

This voice, majestic and mysterious, sent shivers through their very souls.

Before anyone could blink, the crimson phantom morphed into a towering skeleton, shielding those seated around the conference table.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang—

Countless branches lashed out at the mystical skeleton without end, but the transparent, glass-like red bones proved harder than steel or stone.

Branches capable of piercing metal could only leave tiny cracks on its surface!

Those behind the skeleton felt safe—for the first time in what felt like forever.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The branches tore through walls, sending bricks, stones, and wooden beams crashing down.

Soon, the iconic building standing at the heart of Konoha was riddled with holes; had it not been for the giant tree holding it upright, the Hokage Tower might have already crumbled. As it stood, it now looked scarcely different from a war-torn ruin.

The monstrous tree finally stopped growing, its leaves lush and dripping with life, while its limbs hung heavy with corpses.

The Third Hokage stood atop a staff as thick as a three-story building, while on the other side were the survivors sheltered by the red skeleton.

The chaos at Hokage Tower quickly drew attention, and rescue flares shot into the sky.

Nearby ninjas leapt onto rooftops, forming a perimeter around Fugaku and the others under someone else's command.

Hiruzen gave Fugaku a long, searching look, hiding the suspicion in his eyes, then proclaimed loudly, "Danzo has betrayed the village. We owe our survival to the timely intervention of the Director of the Konoha Police!"

Upon hearing this, Fugaku dismissed his Susanoo and replied, "It is my duty as a ninja of Konoha to act in its defense."

Seeing the bloody tears streaming down Fugaku's face, the others hurriedly expressed their heartfelt gratitude.

Meanwhile, the surrounding ninjas stood stunned, jaws slack, each convinced they had misheard.

As the disciple of the Second Hokage and a senior elder of the village—part of the highest leadership—how could Danzo betray Konoha?

Isn't that the same as saying the Hokage himself turned traitor?

Homura Mitokado gasped in shock: "What?! How can that be true?"

Koharu Utatane also frowned in disbelief: "Hiruzen, are you sure about this?"

As she spoke, she shot a sidelong glance at Fugaku, as if to say: *Hiruzen, are you being forced to say this?*

Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his head without offering further explanation. He firmly declared, "Danzo has fled the village together with Anbu Deputy Commander Sarutobi Takao, Squad Leader Hirano Haruto, and Murakumo Kurama!"

The second piece of news once again stunned the two Elders and the newly arrived shinobi.

Before they could ask questions, a flare shot into the sky from afar.

"The barrier has been broken!"

Homura Mitokado immediately spoke out, his face darkening—had Danzo truly gone rogue?

There wasn't even a flicker of surprise on Hiruzen's face. As an Elder of the village, he knew full well how thoroughly Danzo understood Konoha. If he weren't in a rush, Danzo could have passed through the barrier without leaving the slightest trace.

"All Anbu ninjas, stand by!"

"Police Force, maintain order!"

"Barrier Division, repair the barrier!"

"..."

Each command was issued with precision and clarity.

Everyone obeyed and rushed off; even Fugaku raised no doubts!

Maintaining Konoha's stability remained the top priority at the moment!

Colluding with rogue ninjas, harming villagers, practicing Kinjutsu, elders going rogue...

For such a grave matter, once the situation stabilized slightly, there would certainly be a high-level meeting among Konoha's leadership. Only then would the true outcome emerge.
